CHARACTERISTICS AND TECHNICAL DATA This booklet is valid for multipurpose machines, ECO PICK-UP type for steam weeding, steam disinfection, high pressure washing with hot water. These multipurpose machines manufactured by M.M. srl are uniquely identifiable from the CE plate, upon which the data, main characteristics and serial number are printed.
  • Page 6: Noise Level Of The Machine

NOISE LEVEL OF THE MACHINE The level of the sound pressure at the user’s position is of Lp = 82 (+ /0.5) dB (A) The level of the acoustic power measurement is of Lw = 92 (+ /0.5) dB (A) The sound pressure level is raised in accordance with the standards in IEC 60704-1:2021 and UNI EN ISO 3744:2010.
  • Page 7: Safety Rules

SAFETY RULES The worker must wear long clothing, gloves, safety goggles and earmuffs. However the waterproofing protective clothing don’t provide protection against jets of water. In case of direct contact with the water high pressure jet, they don’t give a sufficient protection against the risk of injury During the transport and the use the machine has to be anchored to the floor of the vehicle or of the trailer in four points.
  • Page 8 Caution: when the machine is operating, all the exposed metallic parts where the steam circulates (nozzles, hose reels, weeding shield, booms, etc.) can cause burn. Always use appropriate cloche and protective gloves Put the MM unit in a place that is: - protected from cold - well-ventilated...

Don’t dumping and don’t empty it in the ground or in the drains. The maximum pressure of work for the weeding with water at a temperature of more than 80 °C doesn’t have to overcome 20 BAR Don’t enter in the working area of the machine (about 10m)

  • Page 12 PLACEMENT ON MOTORIZED VEHICLE OR ON TRAILERS For the placement on trailers make reference to the point above where characteristics and dimensions are indicated. Make sure that the weight at full load is compatible with the characteristics of the means of transport used. The fixing of this unit on the means of transport has to be done by qualified person who knows the specific features of the mean of transport.

The filter prevents the pump to suck impurities. It is supplied with a yellow or red cap and allows to be cleaned with the full tank thanks to a valve that also allows to suck water from an external source The minimum diameter of the suction pipe (not fitted) is of 20 mm. PRESSURE REGULATOR (pos. 18) The pressure regulator allows the pressure regulation shown on the pressure gauge (pos.

THERMOSTAT / THERMOMETER (Pos. 5) The thermostat / thermometer indicates the working temperature shown in red on the display. The thermostat / thermometer allows to adjust the desired working temperature in green indicated on the display The machine is fitted with the thermostat create to operate at a temperature between 40 °...

Pay attention to your hand during the rolling up of the pipe and to the danger of burns. For any other information consult the instruction manual of the hose reel delivered with the machine.
  • Page 16 LANCE (pos. 14) The two lances fitted with the machine is proper to the weeding or the washing according to the accessories that the worker uses. Watering lances can be supplied on demand. The lances are equipped with swivel quick-couplings. The ring-nut has the only function to prevent the detachment of the accessories from the lance.
  • Page 17 SAFETY NORMS-GENERATOR never start the generator near petrol or fuel gas stations because of the potential danger of explosion Don’t fill the fuel tank while the motor is operating. Don’t smoke or use free fire near the fuel tank. Refuel (gasoline or diesel fuel o diesel), in well ventilated areas and with the machine off. Pay attention not to invert the two types of fuel.
  • Page 18 CONTROL, PROTECTION AND SAFETY DEVICES A) FLOW METER It starts and stops the burner during the opening and closing of the lance or the boom in order to avoid the overheating and to have a more constant temperature The flashing light (10) indicates an insufficient flow of water in the circuit when the steam outputs are open B) WATER SUPPLY FILTER Preserve the system from impurities like sand or rust.

STARTING PROCEDURE OF THE MACHINE The machine is provided with the level of the oil in the pump ready to use; however, it is necessary always to check it at the first operation. 1. Fill the tank with clean water till the level desired through the upper cap of the tank or through the floater placed in the upper part behind the tank.
  • Page 20 Follow one of the two procedures shows below to do the weeding or the washing: WEEDING MODE PROCEDURE To obtain the best weeding results you have to work with one or two weeding shields at the same time (one for each lance) or with a 40 cm boom on only one lance. The use with a weeding shield on a lance and the boom on the other lance doesn’t allow to reach the maximum temperature of work.
  • Page 21 USE OF THE ACCESSORIES FOR THE STEAM WEEDING The best using conditions and so the best weeding results will be obtained with the weeding shield very close to the ground in order to reduce as much as possible the heat dispersion. It is recommended to arrange the speed of the treatment according to the different types of ground (more or less flat), the density, the height or the type of weed you have to treat.

IRRIGATION MODE You can operate with one or two lances equipped with head irrigation supply as optional Adjust the pressure of the pump at 20 BAR with the pressure gauge. 1) Connect the head to the lance using a quick connector. 2) Open the valves of the pipes you have to use.

EMERGENCY STOP OF THE MACHINE In case of emergency to stop the pressure water jet and/or the temperature, you have to release the lance and block it. Turn the generator’s key counter clockwise in OFF position (pos. 16). PRECAUTIONS FOR USE A) Make sure that the water supply is always sufficient.
