  • Page 7: Section 1 General Information

    The unit is housed in a cast aluminum cottage shell and is suitable for mounting on any wall. The DET-6C can be used on the same loop with mechanical Fire Alarm Boxes. The DET-12C has twelve EOL resistors and a pull handle for zone 1.
  • Page 8: Activation Of Inputs

    The DET-12C uses 2 of the 6 zone boards. When a zone input goes into Alarm, the DET-6C/12C will send the code number for the unit followed by the code that was selected for the zone that went into Alarm.

    EPROM. The standard value on the master EPROM is 1/4 second, with a value of 06, which represents approximately 6/24. See Section 2.2.1, Step 2 for calculation. EPROM 27C512 A blank 27C512 EPROM is supplied with each DET-6C. The 27C512 EPROM is programmed using Digitize DET-PROG programmer. The DET-12C is supplied with 2 EPROMS.

    SECTION 2 PROGRAMMING THE DET-6C/12 EPROM One 27C512 EPROM is factory supplied with each DET-6C. The EPROM stores the data that is transmitted when any input is activated. The DET-12C is supplied with 2 EPROMS. In order to program the DET-6C/12C EPROM for operation, the information can either be sent to DIGITIZE, INC with the purchase order for the DET-6C/12C or programmed using the DET-PROG EPROM programmer for the PC.

If a box contains less than five digits, fill the balance of the box number with 00’s. The sixth digit is always 00. For example, Box 123 is represented by 1, 2, 3, 00, 00, 00.

    If DIGITIZE, INC makes an error, our only responsibility will be to program another chip This information may be loaded by someone other than DIGITIZE, INC by using the DET-6 EPROM Programmer for the PC. The programmer software is easily installed on your PC with the instructions supplied.

  • Page 17 Load Old Site Data – Permits the user to recall a complete setting, by name, that was previously saved. Many of the settings for the DET-6C/12C will be the same for each city or jobsite. The most common change in the programming is the box number that will be transmitted.

  • Page 19 2.2.2 Set Telegraph Codes When Set Telegraph Codes is selected, the screen display corresponds to the data provided in Section 2.1. DIGITIZE DET-6C/12C Program Data Locations, but not in the same order. All default values are already entered in the address locations.

The following locations have to do with transmission (or non- transmission) of a code when a low battery condition is detected.

    Install the conduit and wiring into the shell, as per local electrical codes. The DET-6C/12C has a buzzer that will activate when there is an open or trouble. If the trouble relay output of the DET-6C/12C is connected to the FACP trouble input, the buzzer can be disabled by cutting the jumper J1.

A FORM “C” contact is supplied for this purpose. Terminal 7 is common (C), Terminal 8 is normally closed (NC) and Terminal 9 is Normally Open (NO).

    When the time has elapsed the microprocessor will activate relay K2 to send out the code for the alarm input. If the DET-6C/12C senses a code on the 100mA line, it will wait for the line to clear before trying to send its code.

    If the voltages are correct and the DET-6C/12C is not working, the box guts should be replaced with a spare and the service left to qualified service personnel.
  • Page 30: Battery Maintence

    The battery should be checked at least once every six months to be sure that it has the ability to run the DET-6C/12C. To test the battery, remove the AC power from the unit and measure the 12 VDC going to the DET-6C/12C PCB. Should the voltage fall below 12 volts within the first 30 minutes the battery should be replaced.

Buyer will prepay all freight charges to return any products to the repair facility designated by Digitize and include the RMA number on the shipping container. Digitize will, at its option, either repair the defective products or parts or deliver replacements for defective products or parts on an exchange basis to Buyer, freight prepaid to the Buyer.
