DESCRIPTION OF THE MECHANISM

1. CHARACTERISTIC OF THE S1-MECHA MECHANISM

The S1-MECHA Deck satisfies both the VHS and NTSC/PAL specifications.

The S1-MECHA Deck consists of three motors such as Drum Motor, Capstan Motor and L/C Motor.

The Front Loading of the S1-MECHA Deck is operated by the power of L/C Motor.

S1-MECHA Deck System consists of Five operating Modes such as EJECT, FF/REW, BRAKE/STOP, REVIEW,
and PLAY/CUE/RECORD Mode. And each mode has a 4bits mode signal, which is judged by the CAM switch
which the L/C motor operates.

The cassette-in driving of the S1-Mecha Deck undergoes a process as follows.
- When a cassette is inserted, F/L Drive Rack falls out.
- MICOM recognizes a point of time when the light is transmitted at the Start Sensor.
- MICOM let L/C Motor drive via Motor Drive IC.

S1-MECHA Deck forces REEL to operate on the FF/REW mode and in case of other modes, it operates the
REEL SLIP.

In the FF/REW mode, S1-MECHA Deck should be operated under the unloading position to protect cassette
tapes.

S1-MECHA Deck eliminated the deck PCB and directly connects the main PCB with the 4 main parts (Drum
motor, Capstan motor, L/C motor, Cam Switch) by using the board to board type connector.
