IMPORTANT NOTES
■
The product is suitable for decorating outdoor areas. The re-
chargeable battery charges during the daytime via the solar
fi eld. The accumulated energy allows the LED lights to illumi-
nate at night.
■
The product is designed for private use and is not intended for
commercial use. Only use the product as instructed. Any other
use is deemed improper. Store the instructions in a safe place.
■
Defects arising due to improper handling, damage or attempts
at repair are excluded from the warranty. This also applies to
normal wear and tear.
■
Keep children and animals away from the product and packag-
ing material. The plastic wrappers pose a risk of suffocation!
■
Children must be under supervision to ensure that they do not
play with the product. They could injure themselves with the tip
of the ground spike, among other things.
■
In the event of extreme weather conditions (e.g. storm, hail) or
if you do not intend to use the product for a prolonged period of
time, turn the solar unit off and store the product in a dry place.
■
Never submerge the product in water or other liquids! It is only
splash-proof.
■
Do not disassemble the product (except for removing the re-
chargeable battery prior to disposal of the solar unit). Only
have the product repaired by a qualifi ed workshop or by cus-
tomer service.
■
Do not allow the product to fall and do not subject it to severe
percussions.
■
Do not use the product if it exhibits visible damages.
■
If a rechargeable battery leaks, make sure that the battery acid
does not come into contact with your skin, eyes and mucous
membranes. In the event of contact with the battery acid, rinse
the affected areas instantly with plenty of clean water and im-
mediately consult a physician.
■
Rechargeable batteries must not be disassembled, disposed
of in fi re, immersed in liquids or short circuited.
■
Ensure that the solar fi eld is always clean in order to ensure
the greatest possible collection of light. Therefore, clean it oc-
casionally with a damp cloth. Do not use corrosive or abra-
sive cleaning products to clean the product! They could
damage the surface.
■
To enable automatic activation of the LED lights, the product
should not be situated near other light sources such as street
lamps or other lamps.

Flash (fl ashing function) Slide the On/Off switch to position F

Start-up
The solar unit's rechargeable battery must charge for ap-
prox. 8 hours in order for the LED lights to illuminate.
1. Unpack the product contents and remove any protective foils
and stickers. Check all parts for any damages from transport.
Should you identify any transport damages, please promptly
consult customer service.
2. Select the desired letters.
4. Switch the solar unit on (F or S).
5. Insert the ground spike in the receptacle on the solar light.
6. Mount the product in a place where it is exposed to as much
direct sunlight as possible for the entire day (ideally in open
areas, not underneath trees etc.). Put the ground spike in the
ground. Make sure that it is securely anchored in the soil.
7. Align the solar fi eld with the sun.
Sunlight will now charge the rechargeable battery. At dusk, the
LED lights will automatically turn on. At dawn, the LED lights will
turn off and the rechargeable battery will be recharged via the
solar fi eld.
Disposal
The packaging material is recyclable. Dispose of the pack-
aging in an environmentally-friendly manner and make it
available to the collection service for recyclable materials.
Dispose of the product in an environmentally-friendly man-
ner. It does not belong in the household garbage. Dispose
of it at a recycling centre for old electric and electronic
equipment. For more information, please contact the ad-
ministration in your community.
Rechargeable batteries and other batteries must be re-
moved and disposed of separately before disposing of
the product. To protect the environment, batteries and re-
chargeable batteries may not be disposed of together with
normal household waste. Instead they must be turned in at
appropriate collection points. Please also observe applica-
ble statutory provisions regulating the disposal of batteries.
Removing the rechargeable battery

Open the solar unit by loosening the four screws. Now, you can
carefully remove the rechargeable battery.
