Installation

  1. Locate the OBD-II port and plug in the Power Magic EZ
    The OBD-II port is normally located just below the driver-side interior fuse panel (location may depend on your vehicle).

  2. Plug the Power Magic EZ's power cable to the dashcam's DC-in port
    Neatly run the Power Magic EZ's power cable to the dashcam's position and plug it into the dashcam.

Plug the Power Magic EZ into your OBD-II Port and you are ready to use your dashcam when the engine is off. A low voltage power cut-off function and a parking mode timer protect your car battery from discharge.

Using the Parking Mode Switch you can easily enable/disable parking mode, without affecting drive recording auto-start at ignition.

In some regions the use of the OBD-II port to power accessories may be penalized during a vehicle inspection. It is recommended that the Power Magic EZ be removed from the ODB-II port before a vehicle inspection is carried out.

Settings

Before adjusting the cut-off voltage and timer switches, ensure you turn the Parking Mode Switch OFF and unplug the Power Magic EZ.

Parking Mode Switch
The Parking Mode Switch lets you easily enable/disable parking mode without affecting drive recording. Regardless of whether the switch is ON or OFF, the Power Magic EZ detects when your start your engine and automatically powers your dashcam while driving.

Power Cut-Off Settings
The Power Magic EZ will power your dashcam in parking mode until either your car battery voltage drops to the configured value or the configured timer elapses (whichever occurs first).

Installation Guide

*Only compatible with vehicles which use the CAN bus protocol.

*Make sure the engine is off and accessory power is off before proceeding.

*This product may not be compatible with your dashcam's power connector.

Please check your dashcam's DC power connector size and type before using.

  1. Locate the OBD-II port and plug in the Power Magic EZ
    The OBD-II port is normally located just below the driver-side interior fuse panel (location may depend on your vehicle – please refer to your owner's manual).
    After plugging in the Power Magic EZ, push in the white locking tab to secure it in place.
    ※If the position of the Power Magic EZ prevents you from closing the fuse panel cover, disconnect the Power Magic EZ then remove the OBD-II port from it's mounting hole by reaching behind it and squeezing both sides while pushing the port in. You should then be able to plug in the Power Magic EZ and close the fuse panel cover.
  2. Plug the Power Magic EZ's power cable to the dashcam's DC-in port Neatly run the Power Magic EZ's power cable to the dashcam's position and plug it into the dashcam.

LED Status Indicator

Driving Mode: LED is green when starting the car and whilst driving

Parking Mode: LED blinks green during parking mode

Cut-Off Mode: LED blinks red for 1 minute after cutting off power in accordance with the Timer or Voltage Cut-Off settings (after 1 minute the LED turns off)

※Depending on your vehicle model, there may be a slight delay when switching between modes.
