Please read the instruction carefully before operating the unit.

PRECAUTIONS

  1. This product does not have a separate Power On / Off switch. After inserting a disc and installing batteries / AC adaptor, simply press the button to switch on and play a disc.
  2. In order to maximise battery life and provide optimum playing time this product incorporates an Auto Power Off function. The power to the player will automatically switch off approximately 30 Seconds after a disc has finished playing or when the CD lid is opened.
  3. As the laser beam used in this compact disc player is harmful to the eyes, do not attempt to disassemble the casing.
  4. Do not touch the lens or poke at it. If you do, you may damage the lens and the player may not operate properly.
  5. Do not put anything in the safety slot. If you do, the laser diode will be ON when the lid is still opened.
  6. This unit employs a laser. The use of controls or adjustment or performance of procedures other than those specified herein may result in exposure to hazardous radiation.

POWER SUPPLY

Power on your CD player by inserting 2 size "AA" alkaline batteries or by connecting the AC ADAPTER.

BATTERIES (NOT INCLUDED)

  1. Open the battery compartment door.
  2. Install 2pcs AA size battery inside the compartment at the bottom of the unit.

Important Battery Information

  • When storing the unit, be sure to remove the batteries because they may leak and damage the unit.
  • Batteries may leak electrolyte if inserted incorrectly, if disposed of in fire, or if an attempt is made to charge a battery not intended to be recharged.
  • Discard leaky batteries immediately. Leaking batteries may cause skin burns or other personal injury.
  • Do not charge batteries which are not intended to be recharged.
  • Dispose of batteries, according to federal, state and local regulations.

POWER ADAPTER (NOT INCLUDED)

Connect the power adapter to the 4.5V DC jack of the player and to the wall outlet.

Note:

  • Make sure the local voltage corresponds to the adapter's voltage.
  • Always disconnect the adapter when you are not using it. When batteries are in low condition, replace them or connect the AC power adapter.

USE EARPHONES

Maximum output voltage ≤ 150mV

Wide Band Characteristic Voltage ≥ 75mV

Connect the earphones to the earphone jack on unit.

Headset Safety

Have a Blast - Just Not in Your Eardrums. Make sure you turn down the volume on the unit before you put on headphones. Increase the volume to the desired level only after headphones are in place.

  • Do not play your headset at a high volume. Hearing experts warn against extended high volume play.
  • You should use extreme caution or temporarily discontinue use in potentially hazardous situations. Even if your headset is an open-air type designed to let you hear outside sounds, don't turn up the volume so high that you are unable to hear what is around you.
  • Use of headphones while operating an automobile or moving vehicle is not recommended and is unlawful in some states and areas. Be careful and attentive on the road. Stop operation of the unit if you find it disruptive or distracting while driving.


To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long periods.

LISTENING TO THE CD

PLAYING A CD

  1. Open the CD door, load your disc (label up) into CD compartment.
  2. Press PLAY/PAUSE to turn on the player and start playback. The current track number and the elapsed playing time are displayed. It will take approximately 5 seconds for a CD to begin playback.
  • Press PLAY/PAUSE button to pause playback and press again to resume.
  • Press STOP button to stop playback. The total number of tracks and total playing time will appear on the Multifunction display. Press STOP button again to turn off the player.

Note:

  • To remove the CD, hold it by its edge and press the hub gently while lifting the CD.
  • If a CD rewritable (CD Recordable) is not recorded properly (finalized). "Error" is displayed.
  • For CD Audio, use FINALIZE on your CD recorder to complete the recording.
  • If the disc is dirty, damaged or unreadable, or if the disc is placed upside down, the "" indicator will appear on the display. If this occurs, clean the disc, insert the disc correctly, or try another disc.
  • Playback will stop if you open the CD lid.
  • While the CD is being read, " - - - " is displayed.
  • If there is no activity for 30 seconds in stop mode, the set will turn off automatically to save battery power. Settings such as program and playing modes will be kept.

ADJUSTING THE SOUND

Adjust the volume level by using the Volume knob.

OTHER CD PLAYER FUNCTIONS

SELECTING A TRACK AND SEARCHING

  • Selecting a track during playback
    Briefly press SKIP+ or SKIP- button once or several times to skip to the current, previous or subsequent track. Playback continues with the selected track.
  • Selecting a track when playback is stop
    1. Briefly press SKIP+ or SKIP- button once or several times. The selected track number is displayed.
    2. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start CD play.

SEARCHING FOR A PASSAGE DURING PLAYBACK

Press and hold or to search quickly within a track. During searching, playback continues at a low volume. After 2 seconds the search speeds up.

Note: During SCAN, searching is not possible.

PROGRAMMING CD TRACK

With this function you can program up to 20 titles in the order you desire.

  1. In stop mode, press PROG. to enter program mode. The display briefly shows 'P-01' then '001' flashes indicating that you can select the first track to be programmed.
  2. Press or to select the track you want to program.
  3. Press PROG. again to confirm your selection and access the next program location.
  4. Press PLAY/PAUSE to start playback.

ESP: ANTI-SHOCK PROTECTION

This player incorporates the latest digital anti shock circuit, which prevent interruption of the sound output if the unit is subject to shock or vibration during disc playback.

  • If in use, the player is likely to receive shocks or vibrations (I.e. whilst walking or in a moving vehicle). The ESP function is automatically activated to allow uninterrupted playback. "ESP" will flash in the display. When "ESP" stops flashing, the data buffer is full.
  • Should the player receive shocks for more than 40 seconds continuously in CD playback or 100 seconds in MP3 playback, the sound may mute for a very short while and resume once the player has stabilised from the shock.

SELECTING PLAYBACK MODE

During CD playback, press MODE repeatedly to select one of the following modes with corresponding indicator shows on the display.

"REP 1" is displayed -- repeats current track
"REP ALL" is displayed -- repeats the whole track
"REP DIR" is displayed -- repeats the current directory (MP3 only)
"INTRO" is displayed -- the first 10 second of each track will play
"RND" is displayed -- plays tracks randomly

To return to normal playback, press MODE repeatedly until the mode feature indication disappears.

MP3-CD OPERATION

This player plays not only commercial CDs but also self-complied CD-R/RW/MP3-CD discs.

  • Use mp3 as the file extension when creating audio files onto CDR-R/Ws. Do not use any other extensions such as doc, txt, pdf, etc.. When creating audio files into MP3 format.
  • Do not use the mp3 extension for text or other non-audio data files. This may result in serious malfunction of the set and harmful noise interference.
  • Do not attempt to combine CD audio and MP3 tracks within a CDR-R/W, the unit will only be able to playback CD audio tracks from a CD with mixed formats.

LISTENING TO A MP3-CD

  1. Place a MP3 CDR-R/W with the label side up and push the CD center lightly to set it in position.
  2. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start playback. Please note reading an MP3 CD will take 10 to 30 seconds depending on quantity of files to be read.
  3. Press STOP button to stop playback. Playback stops and the display shows the total number of tracks.

TRACK SELECT

SKIP- / SKIP+: Press SKIP+ to skip forward to the next track or repeatedly to skip tracks. Press SKIP- return to the beginning of the track, or press repeatedly to skip backwards several tracks. Press and hold SKIP- or SKIP+ to search quickly within a track.

PROGRAMING MP3-CD

You can select up to 99 tracks and store them in the memory in a desired sequence. Please refer to "PROGRAMMING CD TRACK" before.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

  1. Clean your unit with a damp (never wet) cloth. Solvent or detergent should never be used.
  2. Avoid leaving your unit in direct sunlight or in hot, humid or dusty places.
  3. Keep your unit away from heating appliances and sources of electrical noise such as fluorescent lamps or motors.
  4. If drop-outs or interruptions occur in the music during CD play, or if the CD fails to play at all, its bottom surface may require cleaning. Before playing, wipe the disc from the center outwards with a good soft cleaning cloth.
  5. Your unit has rubber seals to minimize the risk of moisture getting inside. However, do not immerse it in water since permanent damage to the electrical and mechanical parts will result.
  6. Always clean the outside of the cabinet thoroughly if it becomes wet with moisture or water splashes. This will help to prevent the internal parts of the unit from entry of water and possible moisture damage.
