CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 65
WARNING:
Battery posts, terminals and certain finished components contain lead,
lead compounds and chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and
birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling.
Before operating this battery charger, carefully read this Owner's Manual and all of the labels affixed
to the battery charger. Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.
IMPORTANT
This battery charger should only be serviced by a qualified service technician.
WORK AREA
• DO NOT operate power tools in an explosive atmosphere, such as in the presence of flammable
liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks, which may ignite the dust or fumes.
• Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered benches and dark areas invite accidents.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
• DO NOT expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the
risk of electric shock.
• DO NOT abuse the power cord. Never use the cord to carry the tool or to pull the plug out of an
outlet. Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges, and moving parts. Damaged or entangled
cords increase the risk of electric shock.
• Avoid bodily contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerators.
There is an increased risk of electric shock if the operator's body is grounded.
• When operating a power tool outdoors, use an outdoor extension cord that is suitable for outdoor
use. Using the proper extension cord reduces the risk of electric shock.
SERVICE
• This battery charger should be serviced by a qualified service technician, using identical
replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the battery charger is maintained.

CHARGING THE BATTERY
WARNING:
If any part of the battery charger is missing or damaged, do not operate
until the part is repaired or replaced. Failure to heed this warning could result in possible
serious injury.
NOTE:
The battery is not shipped fully charged. It
is recommended to fully charge the battery
before use to ensure that maximum run
time can be achieved. The lithium-ion
battery will not develop a memory and may
be charged at any time. A fully discharged
battery will require approximately 2 hours
to completely charge.
1. Plug the charger into an AC wall
outlet/receptacle.
2. The red Power LED will illuminate (Fig. 2).

SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES FOR THE BATTERY CHARGER
• DO NOT use this battery charger outdoors and do not expose it to wet or damp conditions. Water
entering the battery charger will increase the risk of electric shock.
• DO NOT abuse the cord or the battery charger. Do not use the cord to carry the battery charger
or to disconnect the battery charger from the outlet. Doing so may cause damage to the cord or the
battery charger, which may create an electric shock hazard. Have a damaged cord replaced
immediately by a qualified service technician.
• DO NOT allow gasoline, oils, petroleum-based products, etc. to come into contact with plastic
parts. These substances contain chemicals that can damage, weaken, or destroy plastic.
• DO NOT allow the battery pack or charger to overheat. If they are warm, allow them to cool down.
Recharge only at room temperature.
• DO NOT set the charger on a soft surface. Keep the ventilation slots of the charger clear.
• DO NOT allow small metal items or material such as steel wool, aluminum foil, or other foreign
particles into the charger cavity.
• DO NOT try to connect two chargers together.
• Before using the battery charger, carefully read all instructions and cautionary markings in this
manual, on the battery, on the battery charger, and on the tool that is powered by the battery in
order to prevent misuse of the products and possible injury or damage.
• The use of any attachment that is not recommended or sold by the manufacturer of the battery
charger may result in a risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury.
• Verify that the cord is positioned so that it will not be stepped on, tripped over, come into contact with
sharp edges or moving parts, or otherwise be subjected to damage or stress. This will reduce the risk
of accidental falls, which could cause injury and damage to the cord, and may result in electric shock.
• Keep the cord and the battery charger away from sources of heat in order to prevent damage to the
housing or the internal parts.
• In order to reduce the risk of electric shock, unplug the battery charger from the outlet before
attempting any maintenance or cleaning.
• Disconnect the battery charger from the outlet when it is not in use. This will reduce the risk of
electric shock or damage to the battery charger if metal items should fall into the opening. It will
also help to prevent damage to the battery charger during a power surge.
• Risk of electric shock. Do not touch the uninsulated part of the output connector or an uninsulated
battery terminal.
3. Insert the battery into the charger (Fig. 2).
NOTE:
Make sure the battery is fully inserted into the charge by making sure the red Indicator LED
charge light is on (Fig. 2).
4. Once the battery has reached a full charge level the Indicator LED will turn from red to green (Fig. 2).
5. The battery may be removed or stored in the charger once it is fully charged; however, it is
recommended to disconnect the plug from the wall outlet/receptacle. To remove the battery, hold
down the battery latch and slide the battery off the charger (Fig. 2).
NOTE:
Lithium-ion batteries, while in use, will continue to provide full power without power fade
unlike typical batteries; when the battery is fully discharged, the battery circuitry will
immediately cut power to the tool and require immediate charging.
WALL-MOUNTABLE
The battery charger features a key-hole hanging feature for convenient storage. Screws should be
installed so that the center distance is 2 3/8" (6 cm). Use proper wall fasteners to accommodate the
combined weight of the battery charger and the battery (approximately 4.5 lb [2 kg])
CHECKING THE CHARGE
If the battery does not charge properly, check the current at the power outlet with another tool. Make
sure that the outlet is not turned off.
BATTERY CHARGER MAINTENANCE
• Keep the battery charger clean and clear of debris. Do not allow foreign material into the recessed
cavity or on the contacts. Wipe with a dry cloth. Do not use solvents, water, or place in wet conditions.
• Always unplug the battery charger when there is no battery in it.
• Give the battery a full charge before placing in storage. Do not recharge a fully charged battery
pack. Overcharging shortens the battery life.
• Check that the battery charger contacts have not been shorted by debris or foreign material.
Latch
• If the surrounding air temperature is not at normal room temperature, move the battery charger and
battery to a location where the temperature is between 65° and 75°F (18° and 24°C).
