Our products are designed for installation into properly constructed wood ceiling joists, TGI’s or floor joists. Do not install into metal studs or ceiling concrete floors.

You can also draw out the position / direction of your ceiling trusses, as it relates to our systems.

Choose a rack location. For our example we will choose to the right of this doorway. Place a pencil mark at the height that is right for your storage needs. You should also identify if you are placing your tires in a horizontal or vertical position to each other.

Use stud finder to locate first stud that is the starting point. Work your way to the right to determine other stud locations. Your wall studs likely are 16” or 24” apart. Make sure to complete a written layout of the space required.

Hardware Required: Drill a pilot hole using ¼ inch drill bit. Align the top hole of the tire track with the pilot hole in the wall. Use a Lag Screw to secure bracket to wall. The lag screw should be snug, but the shelf bracket should remain loose enough to pivot slightly.

Hardware Required: Hold the level on to of the bracket. Ensure that the bracket is level. Drill pilot hole and use lag screw to secure bracket. Just like with the left side, the lag screw should be snug, but not tight. Now you can tighten both bolts.

Find the location of your second bracket: Measure 30 inches out from the previously installed bracket and make a mark (X) with your pencil. From that “X” work backward to locate the closest stud inside the area. Make sure to measure tires first.

Congratulations! Stand back and admire your completed Strong Rack. Now you can load your system. Refer to Appendix V for additional accessory options.
