If the alarm sounds, DO NOT ENTER the contaminated
area. If the unit does not react, the area is free from any of
the gasses it is able to detect.
Switch the unit OFF , then remove the aspirator and place
in the carry case.
You can now switch the unit ON again, in a non-
hazardous area and wait until the unit has passed its self-test.
The display will again ask "are you in clean air?", you
should now press the button below the 'YES' on the
display (the ON button).
If one of the three gasses is detected in the atmosphere
or the level of Oxygen drops, the alarm will sound. The
alarm LED flashes, the back light comes on and the word
'ALARM' flashes on the display next to the gas in question.
If the alarm sounds, evacuate all personnel from the
contaminated area.
EQUIPMENT CARE
Never push the equipment beyond its design
limits. If it is unsuitable for the task you are
performing DO NOT USE OR RELY ON IT. Contact
your local HSS Safe and Sure Depot for advice.
Handle the equipment with care. Avoid dropping it,
knocking it, or otherwise exposing it to damage.
Never expose the equipment to excessive
moisture, dust or dangerous/corrosive chemicals.
Keep the equipment clean. You will find this less of a
chore if you clean up regularly rather than wait until the
end of the hire period.
When not in use, remember to switch OFF , then store
the unit somewhere clean,
dry and safe from
thieves.
FINISHING OFF
Switch the unit OFF , then collect together the
charger and aspirator.
Place all parts in the carry case provided ready for
return, to your local HSS Safe and Sure Depot.
Cleaning
The hirer has a duty of care to ensure the
equipment is returned clean of any potentially
harmful contaminants or body fluids.
HSS may refuse to accept equipment that has
not been suitably cleaned.
