2.4
Risk of damage to property
Strong wind – High wind loads can
damage the awnings.
Only operate the awning within
the wind speeds recommended
for its use (see Annex I on page
26).
Rain water – In the case of awnings
with a slope of less than 15°, water
may accumulate during rain, causing
damage to the awnings.
Retract the awnings when rain
starts.
Extend wet awnings to dry after
rain.
Icing over – Operating the awnings in
icy conditions can result in damages.
In winter, check if the awning has
iced over anywhere.
The automatic controller must
be switched off and the system
turned to manual mode if there is
risk of frost.
3.
Function
The awnings serve as sun and glare
protection on balconies and terraces.
4.

5.1
Lowering/raising the awning
CAUTION – Risk of injury. Hands
may be injured if they get trapped
between the moving parts. Make sure
nobody is reaching into moving parts
before lowering or raising the awning. Pay
special attention to children.
NOTICE – Risk of damage to property.
Lowering the awning when the wind force
is too high may result in damage to
property. The awning must be raised and/
or remain raised during winds speeds
exceeding the recommended maximum
(see Annex I on page 26).
The procedure for lowering / raising the
awning depends on the equipment it is
fitted with:
manually by turning the crank rod on
the manual drive
automatically using the built-in tubular
motor.
The tubular motor can be operated
by a switch for wall-mounted instal-
lations or a hand-held remote control
(depending on the layout).
NOTICE – Risk of damage to property.
Items located near the awning or the
awning may be damaged when it is being
extended or retracted. Make sure that the
work area of the awning is empty before
extending it. Keep remote controls out of
reach of children.
5.2
Operated with an automatic con-
troller
The awning can be operated using an
automatic controller within the context of
building automation.
CAUTION – Unexpected start-up.
Awnings with an automatic controller can
start to move unexpectedly. Do not reach
into moving parts. Switch the awnings to
manual mode before carrying out any
cleaning jobs.
NOTICE – Risk of damage to property.
Wind sensors cannot protect the awning
against sudden high winds (gusts). If
storms are forecast, manually retract the
awning and leave it in the retracted state.
