Beurer HM 16 - Thermo-Hygrometer Manual

Please read these instructions for use carefully and keep them for later use, be sure to make them accessible to other users and observe the information they contain.

Important notes

  • Protect the thermo-hygrometer from knocks, damp, dust, chemicals, drastic changes in temperature, direct sunlight and nearby sources of heat (ovens, heaters).
  • The device is not a toy. Keep out of the reach of children.
  • Clean the device with a damp cloth.
    Do not use any abrasive cleaning products and never submerge the device in water.
  • Using the device improperly or opening the housing will void the warranty.
  • In a variable environment the thermo-hygrometer requires 15 minutes to deliver a reliable measurement.

Getting started

Remove the insulation strip from the battery compartment on the underside of the device. The device is now ready for use. You can use the fold-out stand to create a stand-alone device or you can mount it on the wall using the hook (on the back of the device).

Operation

  • To display the maximum measured temperature/humidity, press the MAX/MIN button on the back of the device.
  • To display the minimum measured temperature/humidity, press the MAX/MIN button on the back of the device twice.
  • The device can display the temperature in either degrees Celsius (°C) or degrees Fahrenheit (°F). To select your preferred temperature unit, press the °C/°F button on the back of the device.

Smiley symbol

  • A smiley on the display shows the current room conditions
    = temperature 20-25°C, humidity 30-60% (ideal value)
    = any temperature and humidity under 30%
    = any temperature and humidity over 60%

A smiley does not appear on the display if the humidity is between 30-60% and the temperature is NOT 20-25°C.

If the air humidity is outside of the measurement range, „LL" (<20%) or „HH" (>95%) will be displayed.

Technical data

  • Temperature measurement range: 0 - 50°C (32 - 122°F), accuracy 0.1°C
  • Humidity measurement range: 20% - 95%
  • CR2025 button cell battery

Disposal


Used batteries should not be disposed of in normal household waste. Dispose of them via your electronics retailer or your local recycling point. Dispose of the device in accordance with Directive 2002/96/EC – WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). If you have any queries, please contact the appropriate local authorities.
