It is therefore of great importance that the operator exercises caution in every given situation.

    Mower conditioner FC313RF 4.2.7 Maximum speed - Always keep to the legal speed limit for driving a tractor-machine assembly on public roads. 4.2.8 Precautions when coupling Before attaching the machine, make sure that it cannot accidentally start moving (chock the wheels) and that the parking stand is in the right position.

    Mower conditioner FC313RF 4.2.9 Hydraulic circuit Caution! The hydraulic circuit is under high pressure. Maximum pressure at work: 200 bar. Before connecting hoses to the tractor hydraulics, ensure that tractor and machine circuits are not under pressure. Before disconnecting a hose, depressurize the hydraulic circuit.

The protective shield of the tractor PTO stub, the PTO shaft guards and the protective shield of the machine input shaft must always be in place and in good condition.

Do not install any adapter device that results in a portion of the tractor PTO stub, the rotating PTO shaft, or the adapter to be unguarded.

    Mower conditioner FC313RF 6. Putting into service Description of control elements The machine is supplied with an 18 mm box wrench (1) to carry out certain adjustment and maintenance tasks. Coupling and uncoupling The machine adapts to tractors equipped with a front mounted 3-point lift linkage fitted with a quick release A frame coupler category 2 (ISO 11001).

    Mower conditioner FC313RF 6.2.2 Preparing the tractor The tractor PTO stub must rotate at a speed of 1000 min The tractor must be fitted with the following components: • 1 single acting valve with float position. • 1 standard ISO 5676 female plug.
  • Page 37 Mower conditioner FC313RF  Additional valve If the tractor has no additional single acting valve with float position: - Install a 3 way valve similar to the one used to adjust the pressure in the hydro-pneumatic accumulators. This operation must be carried out by an authorized specialist.

    Mower conditioner FC313RF 6.2.3 Preparing the machine  Central gearbox The machine can be driven with a PTO stub rotating clockwise or counterclockwise. Check the rotation direction of the tractor's PTO stub: Clockwise rotation: The central gearbox is factory set for a clockwise rotating input drive.

    Mower conditioner FC313RF 6.2.5 Hydraulic connection If the pressure gauge indicates a pressure of approximately 75 bar (1088 psi) when the machine is in parking or working position, no adjustment is required.  Bleeding adjusting hydraulic circuit pressure With the machine attached: - Connect the hydraulic hose to the single acting valve with float position.

    Mower conditioner FC313RF 6.2.7 Primary PTO shaft Before using the machine for the first time: - Grease the transmission. Check overlap of the u-joint drive shaft and adjust length if necessary to avoid any premature wear. The direction of rotation is shown on a decal.
  • Page 48 Mower conditioner FC313RF Never operate the PTO shaft at an angle X exceeding 30°. Never lift the mowing unit with the tractor's lift linkage when the PTO is engaged. To avoid serious accidents, the PTO drive shaft guards must be properly in place and fixed with the chains provided.

    Mower conditioner FC313RF Adjustments in working position 8.2.1 Cutting height The desired cutting height is obtained directly by adjusting the top link length. The height can be adjusted between 30 and 80 mm (1.1’’ - 3.1’’) depending on the tractors.

    Mower conditioner FC313RF 8.2.2 Ground pressure The mowing unit suspension is obtained by 2 hydro- pneumatic accumulators. By modifying the pressure in the accumulators, the mowing unit ground pressure is altered.  To check the ground pressure - Place the machine in working position.

    Mower conditioner FC313RF 8.2.3 Conditioning intensity Before adjusting, maintaining or repairing the machine, turn off ignition key and wait until all moving parts have come to a complete stop. Conditioning intensity is determined by the pressure exerted by the two rollers.

    Mower conditioner FC313RF 10.3.4 Oil change  The cutterbar Before draining oil, operate the machine for a few minutes so that the oil warms up. The cutterbar is lubricated with 2.25 L (0.6 US gal) of extreme-pressure gear oil with viscosity grade SAE 80W90 and API grade GL5.

The angle gearbox is lubricated with 0.7 L (0.18 US gal) of extreme-pressure oil for mechanical transmissions with viscosity grade SAE 80W90 and API grade GL5.

The angle gearbox is lubricated with 2.5 L (0.66 US gal) of extreme-pressure oil for mechanical transmissions with viscosity grade SAE 80W90 and API grade GL5.

    Mower conditioner FC313RF 10.4 Maintenance Before adjusting, maintaining or repairing the machine, turn off ignition key and wait until all moving parts have come to a complete stop. 10.4.1 Hydro-pneumatic accumulators Before any work is carried out on a hydraulic circuit with hydro-pneumatic accumulator, depressurize the circuit.

The hydro-pneumatic accumulator does not require any particular maintenance. - Regularly check the tightness of the accumulator fixing bolts and that no oil has leaked from the hydraulic circuit (a small oil leak can change settings).

    Mower conditioner FC313RF 10.4.2 Basic adjustments  Transport stops Transport stops (1) limit the machine's oscillation during transport. The transport stops are factory set. Transport stop rubbers must flaten themselves by 10 mm (0.4’’) in transport position. Adjustment: From the working position: - Loosen counter-nuts (2).

    Mower conditioner FC313RF 10.4.3 Checking the roller parallelism and gap Stop (1) located on each side of the conditioner are factory set to ensure the parallelism and minimum roller gap. Screw (1) and counter-nut (2) are coated with Loctite 243 when fitted.

    Mower conditioner FC313RF 10.4.4 Drive chain tension The tensioning device (1) ensures correct tension during work whatever the crop density.  Adjusting the tension - Remove 3 bolts (1). - Remove chain guard (2). - Unscrew the 2 bolts (1).

    Mower conditioner FC313RF 10.4.5 Chain replacement and roller synchronization To replace the chain: - Remove 3 bolts (1). - Remove chain guard (2). - Unscrew 2 bolts (1). - Pivot tensioning device slacken chain slightly (a). - Remove quick release link (3) and then chain (2).
  • Page 83 Mower conditioner FC313RF - Place wedge (1) between upright (2) and roller (3). - Rotate upper roller to balance the play on each side of the lower roller. - Place wedge (1) between upright (2) and roller (4). - Fit new chain on sprockets (1) and (2).
  • Page 84 Mower conditioner FC313RF If the chain is tensioned : - Reinstall quick release link (3). - Pivot the tensioning device (c) by hand to give it a slight preload. - Tighten the 2 bolts (4): • Torque: 5 daN m (37 lbf ft).

    Mower conditioner FC313RF 10.4.6 Belt tension - Regularly check belt tension and in particular during the first hours of use. Loose belts slip excessively which reduces crop ejection quality and can cause conditioning rotor clogging. Checking the tension: The tensioning device ensures correct tension as long as washer (3) is in contact with tube (4).
