Warnings and safety information
This device can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sen-
sory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the device in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must
not play with the device.
Keep the solar panel and charge controller in a well-ventilated area and away from any liquids at all times.
Always keep the solar panel and charge controller clean (always check that the connectors are clean be-
fore plugging them in).
This appliance is not intended to be used by people who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Do NOT use the solar panel to charge non-rechargeable batteries. This may damage the solar panel and
charge controller. (This product is for 12 V batteries.)
Only use the solar panel, charge controller, battery cable and extension cable provided in the kit. Never
make any changes to the components in the kit.
The charge controller is suitable for lead-acid batteries (flooded, AGM and GEL) and lithium-ion batteries. It
is not suited for nickel-metal hydride or other batteries.
Make sure your battery has enough voltage for the charge controller to recognise the battery type before
the first installation. The charge controller is only for this kit. Do not use it for other solar panel systems.
The charge controller will be hot when it is working. Install the charge controller on a smooth, well-venti-
lated surface.
Ensure nothing sharp or heavy could potentially break or damage the solar panel during transport or stor-
age.
When using the solar panel, ensure that the solar cell area is not shaded/covered by any objects.
User instructions
The solar panel has the highest working efficiency when it is facing sunshine directly.
For optimal performance throughout the day, set the panel at an angle of approximately 30 degrees from
the ground. Setting it anywhere between 10 and 40 degrees will gain the best power absorption through
the course of the day.
The battery cable should be as short as possible to minimise loss of electric power.
