Once the mask is fitted, take a deep breath to
activate the demand valve.
Try to keep your breathing as normal as possible,
the calmer your breathing the longer the cylinder
contents will last.
Once in a safe atmosphere, press the reset button
on the demand valve and close the air valve on the
cylinder.
Remove the mask and close the air supply.
If during use, the main air supply fails you will
hear an audible warning whistle. Upon hearing
the whistle, the user should open the reserve
cylinder valve fully (anticlockwise).
In the event that you may have to use the unit, do
not panic, this may lead to fumbling and wasting
precious time.
There is approximately 10 minutes of breathable
air in one cylinder.
If the reserve cylinder has been used, contact your
local HSS Safe and Sure Depot for a replacement
unit.
