Set-up instructions The following instructions must be carefully observed in order to get the best working performance. Preparing the tractor The addition of water ballasts in the tires and a set of weights on the front part and rear wheels of the tractor are the most used ways to increase the soil traction and give greater stability to the tractor.
Set-up instructions Hitching to the tractor (hydraulic motor) Approach the tractor and couple the hoses (A) to the quick couplers. To do so, shut down the engine, relieve the control valve pressure by activating the lever a couple of times and check if the quick couplers are clean.
Page 29
Set-up instructions Hitching to the tractor Couple the hitch (A) to the tractor drawbar by placing a pin (B) and cotter pin. To facilitate hitching, use the jack (D) height adjustment. Fasten the chain (C) to the equipment and tractor to assure that the set will not get loose, but leave a small clearance to assure that the equipment can perform maneuvers.
Page 30
Set-up instructions Coupling the cardan to the PTO Verify the length of the cardan shaft in the following way: 1) Separate the male bar from the female tube and couple it in the power take-off. For this, turn the quick lock on clockwise direction and push it to fit on the coupling lock device.
Set-up instructions Reducing the cardan length If it is necessary, cut similar parts of the male and female drive shaft as well as the protecting covers. But before cutting the shaft, verify all possibilities of usage without reducing its length. The length adjustment will be done when the distance between the equipment and the tractor do not allow coupling.
Page 32
Set-up instructions Cardan shaft assembly When assembling the cardan shaft, it is necessary to be careful and leave the terminals on both ends aligned. The discrepancy of the terminals in 90° will cause vibrations and a greater wear on the universal joints, reducing the lifetime of the set. Observe the internal forks alignment Correct assembly Correct assembly...
Set-up instructions Jack position for working or transportation After hitching, the jack (A) must be removed. To do so, release the cotter pin (B) and pin (C). Remove the jack and place it on the frame side using a pin (C) and cotter pin (B), as shown below.
Page 34
Set-up instructions Equipment leveling Couple the drawbar and check the horizontal leveling of the equipment. If there is any adjustment that needs to be done, proceed as follows: Consult the tractor manual to check the possible drawbar working positions. Use a height that will better help leveling the equipment.

Adjustments and operations Fins position on the discs The rotating discs feature 04 adjustable fins to provide uniformity during the application, both at high and low dosages. The change of the fin angles at the discs provides the change in the application band width and in the direction of the product.
Page 41
Adjustments and operations Distance between distribution bands The distance between distribution bands must be observed to provide a homogeneous distribution in the whole area; so that the same amount can be distributed per m² of soil. In practice, however, it is acceptable a variation up to 25% in the distributed amount. That occurs especially in the overlapping band (between the distribution bands).
Adjustments and operations Gate opening The gate cover has the function to limit the amount of product carried by the conveyor. Its activation is made by a thread (A) that allows light movements to open or close the exit. The gate opening is indicated in the graduated scale (B) that goes from 0 to 15 and has divisions every half centimeter.
Adjustments and operations Application tables The amount of product to be distributed (kg/hectares) takes into account the following points: 1) Tractor speed: 6 to 7 km/h. 2) For spreaders that are activated by the cardan shaft - PTO rotation speed: 540 rpm. For spreaders with hydraulic activation - Oil flow rate: 45 l/min.
