Charging time (empty rechargeable batteries 4,1 Ah Ni-MH): about 6 hours
HighPower and LowPower
IXON IQ Speed® headlamps enable the choice of two operating modes using the integral switch.
For double brightness on the track, a second IXON IQ Speed® is available which can be attached to the second bushing (5) of the rechargeable battery via a cable enclosed with the accessory headlamp.
The pushbutton (1) provides the following operating modes:
Flashing green*: HighPower light, when lighting capacity is starting to weaken, the system automatically switches over to the LowPower mode.
Flashing red/green*: LowPower light
Flashing red: Capacity exhausted shortly. According to StVZO, rechargeable batteries must be charged.
In the HighPower mode and due to high voltage variations, rechargeable batteries that are almost empty temporarily indicate an excessive remaining capacity when the system is switched on (green, when the system is switched on, and flashing red/green after a short while). When the headlamp automatically switches over to the LowPower mode under standard operation, the system still provides 10-Lux lighting capacity for approximately 1 hour or more. After that, the electronic system switches over to flashing red and the lighting capacity decreases continually.
Draw the pre-assembled clamping strap (3), i.e. the handlebar bracket, from the stop lever (4), attach it around the handlebar and insert it into the lever again. Make sure to tighten the clamping strap firmly and push the stop lever downwards. Battery bag (7) to be fixed at the frame tube. Please check secure fit. The headlamp casing is directly attached to the bracket in a way to permit rotation so as to enable precise adjustment for perfect track illumination. When adjusting the headlamp please make absolutely sure not to blind the oncoming traffic! No assembly below the handlebar: Splash water may cause damage in case of suspended assembly for which any warranty claims are excluded.
When using the helmet bracket (D) which must be firmly and securely attached to the helmet by means of the two enclosed Velcro® straps, affix the headlamp to the round bridge of this bracket as described above.
If the headlamp (E) is to be carried directly on the cyclist's forehead, attach the helmet bracket to the sweatband and headband which must then be strapped firmly onto the cyclist's head by means of the enclosed Velcro® straps.
Make sure to charge the new rechargeable battery prior to initial operation. Note: The rechargeable battery will not reach full capacity before it has been charged and discharged several times!
For recharging, remove the cable that connects the headlamp and the rechargeable battery from the battery pack. Insert the corresponding plug of the power pack into one of the battery bushings. The enclosed processor-controlled charger features an input range of 180 to 250 volt/50 - 60 hertz.
When the charger is plugged into the wall socket, the LED on the charger briefly comes on "red". The charger is ready for use. As soon as the rechargeable battery pack has been connected for charging, the diode light turns "red" again.
The charging process terminates automatically and the power supply is reduced to maintenance charge to exclude overcharging of the battery. The LED is "green" now. If the charging process of exhaustively discharged batteries ends after just a few minutes, please disconnect and reconnect the charger from the battery pack. It might be necessary to repeat this process has several times.
With the included charger, the charging time for this battery pack is approx. six hours when in regular charging mode (0.9 A). When switched to quick charging (1.8 A), the charging time is much shorter. The battery may only be charged in quick mode if its temperature is at least 20°C. At lower temperatures, the battery pack may be damaged.
In case of a short circuit in the charger plug or battery pack, the LED will be flashing „red" at very brief intervals and the charging process is stopped. Overheating of the charger, too, will automatically switch off the charging process. Installed in the connection cable between charger and battery is an exchangeable 3A fuse which interrupts charging in case of a short circuit. (2 replacement fuses are included.)
If the rechargeable battery pack is not used for an extended period of time make sure to fully charge the batteries and remove the pack from the headlamp (remove cable), to prevent total discharge or leakage. Store the rechargeable battery in a cool place and recharge them at approximately 3 months' intervals as a precautionary measure.
Cannot be charged with IXON mains adapter (type 192, Art. No. 447L).
If you wish to use a charger other than that provided by the manufacturer make sure that it is suited to charge 5 series-connected Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. We do not accept liability for damage to the rechargeable battery pack!
It requires a circular plug 3.5x1.35 mm. The polarity of the plug must be internal = + and external = –. We do not accept liability for damage to the rechargeable battery pack!
Never dispose of worn-out rechargeable batteries or electronic parts with your domestic waste but discard as hazardous waste!
