Dear Customer, thank you for purchasing the GDI Tach/Hour meter to help you track your runtime and ensure proper maintenance. Please read this instruction manual completely before you start the installation. The manual is an important part of the product and must be include if you sell it.

Safety Instructions

The meter monitors the functions of the machine it is mounted on. It cannot prevent dangerous situations on it's own. The equipment that the hour meter is installed on must be safe and in good working order.
In doubt always contact a qualified dealer.

Whenever you see this sign in the manual it points at a potential danger in case of inobservance. (Injuries, damages etc.).

Features

• The meter monitors hours/tach and, when specifeid, service intervals on any gasoline engine with one and two cylinders.
• The Flash alert service displays reminders for preventive maintenance.
• If you chose the meter with mode button, it is possible to toggle through functions, view an event counter and reset Flash Alerts after maintenance.
• Due to a self-contained battery it has a life cycle of 12 years.
• High contrast LCD display is always lit and is polarized to prevent discoloration from UV exposure. The display is water tight and will not be damaged if the equipment is cleaned with a pressure washer.
• Absolut dust-, fresh-, and saltwater-resistant therefore it's ideal for maritime areas, too.
• Extreme shock proof

Installation

Make sure that the engine is powered down before installation. Do not drill into gas tank, engine crankcase or muffler! The mounting area should not exceed 65°C (125°F) and should be at least 30 cm (1 foot) away from the spark plug to avoid dual frequency inputs.

1. Pull pickup wire through the meter from bottom through the pickup hole. Place the end of the wire into the dead end hole and pull it tight. Determine where the exit of the pickup wire should be (front or side). (➋)
   
   
2. Mount the meter with screws or double-sided tape. Mount only on flat surfaces. Bolting pressure must be under the display to avoid tension.
3. SPARK PLUG WIRE MOUNTING
   Wrap the meter pickup wire tight around the spark plug wire 4 to 5 times and fix it with the supplied tie wrap. (➌)
   
   OR
4. COIL MOUNTING
   Wrap the meter pickup wire around the plugin-coil module 3 to 5 times and fix it with the supplied tie wrap. (➍)
   

Functions

Note: resettable functions / event counters / timers are only possible on meters with mode button

• Total run timer counts in tenths/hour, then whole hours up to 99 999 hours (non resettable)
• Timer 1 + 2 count in tenths/hour, then whole hours up to 99 999 hours (resettable or non resettable / to reset hold the mode button down for 3 seconds)
• Flash alerts: Three service alerts (count down intervals, run hours) can be reset by holding down the mode button for 3 seconds → for all possible alerts check our website. www.imd-europe.com
• Event counter counts power up cycles. They can be viewed either automatically when equipment is powered off or by holding the Mode Button down for 3 seconds in hour meter mode
• Warranty clock: Small dot that goes solid when the warranty period is expired.
• Tachometer displays up to 15,999 rpm with 1% resolution. Meters without button display rpm in on mode and total hours in off mode.
