    YOUR RESPONSIBILITY Safety and comfort are essential to your child’s well being; use common sense and pay close attention to your passenger’s needs as well as your own. PACKING WITH A CHILD Know your physical abilities and limitations. Make sure that you are in the proper physical condition for walking while carrying a child in a backpack.

    SAFETY RESTRICTIONS TO QUALIFY AS A PASSENGER: MINIMUM age 6 mos. and MAXIMUM weight 45 lbs. Your child must be able to sit upright (usually at 6 months of age), and be strong enough to hold up their head. If you are unsure, check with your pediatrician about your child’s ability to 45 lbs (20 kg) support their neck and sit alone while riding in a back pack child carrier.

  • Page 8 BEFORE YOU WEAR THE PACK… Adjust the belt position to fit your height. Move the belt up for heights of 5’2” or more. On-the-fly™ Height Adjusters Easily adjust the height of the pack while carrying your child. One adult can transfer the child (in the pack) onto another person, and easily adjust the pack to their height.

  • Page 11 HOW TO CARRY A CHILD IN THE PACK: The pack should be adjusted to your body. The child should be secured into the seat. Always lift the pack by the grab handles only. GET READY: Loosen the shoulder straps, and open the belt on the pack. NOTE: If this is a new experience for you or your child, you may want to make your first time less challenging.
