    4.0 Opera�ng Instruc�ons 4.1 Start-up A�er connec�ng the machine to a power source, flip the power switch to the on posi�on. The machine will perform a brief self-check, which takes about 20 seconds. Ini�alizing Self-Check, Please Wait... Figure 4-1 Start-Up Screen The machine will spin the banknote processing wheels several �mes before entering the main coun�ng screen, as shown in figure 4-2.

    4.2 Coun�ng Mode The default coun�ng mode is MDC. You can cycle between the three coun�ng mode op�ons by pressing the MODE key on the control panel. 4.2.1 MDC Mode In MDC mode, the counter will count all denomina�ons of the selected currency, recording both the total value of the bills counted, as well as the total number of bills counted.

    4.3.1 Automa�c Currency Recogni�on When the currency is set to AUTO, the counter will automa�cally recognize the currency of the first bill it counts. The flag and 3-digit code for this currency will appear in the top le� corner of the display, and the machine will count all denomina�ons of the currency.

    4.4 Op�onal Coun�ng Func�ons 4.4.1 Automa�c Start When automa�c start is enabled, the machine will start coun�ng as soon as bills are placed into the hopper. If automa�c start is disabled, the machine will not start coun�ng un�l you press the START key. Automa�c Start is on by default, and can be enabled or disabled by pressing the AUTO/ key.

    The batch quan�ty can be changed by pressing the arrow keys. Pressing the will increase the batch by 10, pressing the key will decrease the batch by 10, pressing the key will increase the batch by 1, and pressing the key will decrease the batch by 1.

    Figure 4-15 Speed Indicator 4.6 Count Detail Report A�er performing a count in MDC or SDC mode, you can view the count details by pressing the REPO key. The report includes the total number of bills counted, the total value counted, as well as a breakdown of each denomina�on counted. Press the BACK/ key to return to the main count screen.

    4.7 Count Detail Prin�ng If the machine is connected to a printer, the count details can be printed. A�er performing a count, press the PRINT key to enter the print menu.     5.0 Maintenance Regular cleaning and calibra�on are required to maintain op�mal opera�on of your bill counter. 5.1 Cleaning the Machine Circulated bills collect dust, dirt and grime that can impair the opera�on of your bill counter’s sensors and feeding system. Any dirt or dust stuck to the sensors can cause error messages and erroneous coun�ng results.

    Bill jams can be caused by the following: 1) Foreign Objects - the bill channel is blocked by a foreign object (rubber band, paper clip, tape, etc). Open the back cover, remove any foreign objects or debris, and clean the internal sensors. 2) Feed Gap - the feed gap is set either too �ght or too loose.
