- Page 4 Assembly Assembling the umbrella Opening the umbrella □ Hold the umbrella shaft securely, rotate the crank handle □ clockwise to open the umbrella. Do not over crank the handle. Depress the locking pin on the bottom pole (B) and Rotate the handle counter clockwise to close. push into the umbrella pole (A) until the locking pin can be seen on the outside of the umbrella pole, and an audiable click is heard.
