User Manual Plant Thirsty Light
Warning: when putting in and pulling out of the soil, ALWAYS hold the green probe and
NEVER hold the white housing to avoid damage. The Thirsty Light is intended for indoor
use only.
The Plant Thirsty Light comes packaged in off-mode to preserve battery life. Before inserting
the item into the soil turn it on by pressing and holding the button for 3 seconds. After
activation, the light flashes 3X red and green and the Thirsty Light continues to flash red as
long as the device is not inserted into the ground. If you are not using the Thirsty Light for a
longer period of time, press the button again for 3 seconds and the light will now flash 3X
red and green again. Then the Thirsty Light stops flashing.

Permanent mode (you leave the Thirsty Light with the plant)

Insert the item into the soil of your plant. Make certain that the soil is compacted around the
probe with your fingers. Push the soil moisture sensor into the soil until it reaches the mark
4 on the probe. Once the item is turned on, it will test soil moisture every two hours. If the
moisture level is normal, the indicator will blink green once. When the plant needs water the
indicator will blink orange 3 times. The moment the indicator will blink red it reminds you to
water immediately. While adding water, the moisture level will go back to normal and the
indicator will stop blinking red. It will soon blink green once, to indicate the moisture level is
sufficient again.

Direct mode (instant reading)

Insert the Thirsty Light into the soil to the mark 5 on the probe. Now press the button briefly.
When the green light shows, the soil is sufficiently moist. When the orange light shows, the
soil starts to dry out. You may water your plant. If the red light shows, the soil is too dry and
you should water immediately.
Your plant needs a lot of water or you want to be warned in an earlier stage by the red
light
If you have a plant that needs more than average water or you want to be warned faster by
the red light, insert the Thirsty Light in the soil up to mark 3 on the green probe. If this does
not lead to the desired result, try again to mark 2 or mark 1 on the probe. Make sure to
always press the soil against the probe with your fingers.
Your plant needs little water or you want to be warned later by the red light
If you have a plant that requires less than average water or you wish to be warned later by
the red light, place the Thirsty Light up to mark 5 on the green probe in the soil. If this does
not lead to the desired result, try again to mark 6 or mark 7 on the probe. Make sure to
always press the soil against the probe with your fingers.
