Mounting the Smart Series Unit
o
The unit should be installed internally of the vehicle only and not within the vehicle engine bay
o
It should be mounted as close to the auxiliary battery to be charged as possible
o
The unit can be mounted in any orientation to assist installation but must have a min 60mm clearance
around the entire unit to allow for efficient heat exchange from the unit to the ambient air
o
Whilst it can be mounted onto any surface, you can increase the thermal conductivity of the Smart Series
and aid its performance by mounting it directly onto an internal metal vehicle surface – this will create a
metal-on-metal heat exchange
o
An additional metal panel may be installed, or the unit could be installed directly to the vehicle metal floor
or similar utilising applicable self tapping screws and the mounting points on the side flanges of the unit
