● The blue card slot on the side of the device, is opened with a fingernail. It
does not open by pressing.
● Google Meet / Hangouts is already available on the device. A phone number
must be provided to use it.
Links, Apps and Documents to Add to the Homescreen
Downloading an app from the play store will automatically create a link to the app
on the homescreen. You can also add web page links to the homescreen. To do this,
navigate to the webpage you want to add, tap the three dots in the right hand
corner and select 'add to homescreen'. Selecting 'add automatically' will create a
link on the homescreen.
You ​ m ust​ add the following to the home screen:
● 'Read Me' file (edited appropriately to include your correct details)
● Learn My Way (bookmark or add shortcuts to useful topics/courses, for
example Online Safety or Improving Health Online)
● The Online Safety
● NHS.UK staying safe at home guidance
● An appropriate video calling app
You may consider adding additional apps and documents. These could include:
● Make It Click (online training resources)
● Library online resources
● YouTube
● Social media apps
● Supermarket home delivery service
● Local council
Child User Account
The device has children's account settings. An account can be set up for each
individual child that is in a household. The account helps parents to control
children's screen time and the content they access. Usage time per session and
break times between sessions can be set up. The child account will only display
child friendly apps. A parental control password can be set. To set up a child's
account:
- Swipe down from the top of the screen
- Select 'Users'
- Select 'Add New User'
- Select 'Child User'
