With the help of a water sensor, the WD 1000 water detector can detect unwanted water leakages at an early stage. As soon as the sensor contacts come into touch with water, the integrated acoustic and visual alarm sounds. Typical applications include detecting leakages as a result of technical defects in washing machines, dishwashers or hot water boilers, early warning in the event of an ingress of water due to flooding, as well as additional protection of water level or float switches. The WD 1000 device thus creates additional security, offering you protection against major consequential damage.

Do not expose the device to extreme humidity. Inadmissible condensation (condensation of air humidity on the device) can occur if a cold device is brought into a significantly warmer environment. Condensates form, which can lead to short circuits between electrical contacts. In this case, acclimatise the device, which has been disconnected from the mains, for approx. 2 hours at room temperature.
Danger of tripping! Tripping can lead to serious injuries.
All work on the mains and device may only be carried out by authorized electricians.
A qualified person is defined as a person, due to his professional training and experience, has sufficient knowledge in the field of electronics and the relevant health and safety regulations, accident prevention regulations and guidelines, generally has the knowledge of technical regulations (for example, DIN standards, VDE regulations, technical rules, etc.) so that he can assess the safe working condition of electronic devices.
The applicable laws and standards of the country in which the device is operated must be followed. The product is not intended to control electrical equipment that has safety-related functions.

Please observe the following safety instructions to avoid malfunctions, damage and health hazards:
The location for installing the water sensor must be carefully selected if you wish to be alerted reliably and quickly in the event of water damage. To do this, take heed of any floor inclinations, as well as the distance between both measuring tips and the floor. Install the sensor with the measuring tips pointing downwards, exactly at the distance from the floor from which an alarm is to be triggered in the event of leaking water. To fix it, please use the installation hole in the water sensor and mounting material suitable for the installation spot.
Connect the sensor cable's jack plug to the WD 1000 device and plug the water detector into a 230 volt socket (see NOTE ON OPERATION). As soon as the "Power" LED lights up green, the device is ready for operation.
As soon as the sensor's two measuring tips come into contact with water, a permanent acoustic and optical alarm signal is emitted. The "Alarm" LED lights up red. You can reset the alarm by first unplugging the WD 1000 device and then plugging it in again.
NOTE: Optionally, the alarm can also be ended automatically after the last water contact. To do this, the WD 1000 must be opened.
Make sure to switch off the device – pull the WD 1000 out of the mains socket! Loosen the housing screws and remove the jumper (see illustration right below).
Refit the housing of the WD 1000 before plugging it into the mains socket.
The device can only be opened by a authorized electrician (see SAFETY)! Opening the device will reveal components which have a live current and can be hazardous to your health when touched. Before opening, the power plug must be pulled out. Any change to the circuit or the use of components other than those specified is not permitted.
Check the water sensor's measuring tips at regular intervals. If necessary, clean the metal ends with a damp cloth. Check regularly to see if the WD 1000 device is working properly by bridging the water sensor with a metal part.
NOTE: H-TRONIC GmbH is not liable for damage and/or loss of any kind, such as, individual or consequential damage that happens if the water detector does not detect leaking water and/or an acoustic or visual alarm is not emitted.
The WD 1000 device's sensor cable including the 3.5 mm jack plug carries low voltage and must not be laid in the same cable duct with cables that carry more than 50 V. In addition, the sensor cable should not be laid in the immediate vicinity of power cables so as to prevent interference and measurement errors because of this. You can extend the sensor cable up to a length of 20 m (0.5 mm² to 1.5 mm), e.g. art. no 111 46 85 extension cable 5 m.
