Device Functions

See how fast your USB mobile devices are charging by connecting the Meter in-line with your USB cable.

Connect the Meter

Connect the Meter between your USB cable and power source. Connect your mobile device to the USB cable and begin charging.

Read the LED Meter

The LED meter displays the amount of power your mobile device is receiving. (Refer to Power Guide)

Power Guide

This guide shows you how to read the LED meter display.

Power is available from USB source, but your mobile device is not charging.

1W (5V,0.20A)

2W (5V,0.40A)

3W (5V,0.60A)

4W (5V,0.80A)

5W (5V,1A)

High-power Mode

If the smallest LED is alternating red/blue, the meter is in high-power mode.

6W (5V,1.20A)

Charge Rates

The list below shows the maximum charge rates of popular smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices.

NOTE:
Mobile devices decrease their charge rate when the battery level increases. Maximum charge rates only occur when the battery level is lower than 50%.

NOTE:
Maximum charge rates may vary.

NOTE:
If you mobile device is charging above 10W, the LED meter will read 10W.

Solar Panels

The Practical Meter will show you the power output of any portable generator including the PowerPot and solar panels.

• The Practical Meter is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience or knowledge, unless under proper supervision or instruction concerning use of the Practical Meter by a person responsible for their safety.
• In the event that the Practical Meter is damaged or ceases to function properly, stop use immediately and contact us.
