Important: WPG12- is a permanent part of the SSID for the Presentation
Player. You may enter any characters following WPG12-, but wireless PCs
must use the full SSID, including WPG12-, to communicate with the
Presentation Player. In most cases, the Control Utility will configure this set-
ting for you.
D. To use WEP encryption, click the radio button next to Enable. Then click
the WEP Key Setting button to configure your encryption settings. (All
wireless devices communicating with the Presentation Player must use the
same WEP encryption settings. When WEP is enabled, there will be a slight
degradation in performance when a presentation is run from a remote wire-
less computer.)
E. In the drop-down box next to
WEP Encryption, select 64 Bit
or 128 Bit. Selecting the higher
wireless security of 128 Bit
could slow down your presenta-
tion.
F. There are two ways to create
WEP encryption keys. The first
way is to enter a Passphrase
E
with a maximum of 16 hexadec-
imal characters (letters "A"-"F"
and numbers "0"-"9") and then click the Generate button. This will gener-
ate WEP encryption keys based upon that passphrase.
The second way is to manually enter a 10-digit, hexadecimal key for 64-bit
WEP encryption, or a 26-digit, hexadecimal key for 128-bit WEP encryp-
tion. Click the Clear button to erase anything you have entered. Click the
Apply button to save your settings.
You have successfully installed the Presentation Player.
Proceed to Step 4 for instructions on how to use the Presentation Player.
Using the Presentation Player's
Control Utility
Use the Control Utility to upload presentations or control the Presentation
Player. The Control Utility may be accessed from any wired or wireless PC
connected to the Presentation Player. Make sure that the Presentation Player is
connected to the projector or monitor and that both devices are powered on (if
you are only uploading presentation files, then the Presentation Player does not
have to be connected to the projector or monitor).
Important: Place the Presentation Player on or near the monitor or projection
area. To use the remote control, it must be in line of sight of the Presentation
Player (similar to how you use the remote control for a TV).
A. Click Start, and select Programs.
Select the Presentation Player fold-
er. Click Control Utility. The first
screen that appears is the Welcome
screen. Click the Next button.
A
B. When the Presentation Player is
found, select your Presentation Player
from the drop-down menu, and click
the Next button.
B
C. Choose your presentation option
from the bottom of the screen.
Upload Presentation - This allows
you to upload a PowerPoint presenta-
tion to the Presentation Player. Once
uploaded, you can display the enter
presentation using the remote control.
C
If WEP encryption has been enabled
on the Presentation Player, but not on your PC, then you may be asked to
enter the Presentation Player's passphrase or WEP key.
Take Control of the Presentation Player - This allows you run your pres-
entation from your PC. The Control Utility will conveniently transfer the
contents of your local screen to the projector or monitor where the presen-
tation will be displayed. You may notice some delay in mouse and keyboard
function; such a delay is normal for this mode of operation.
You are now able to run a presentation from your PC.
To use the Presentation Player's remote display function,
proceed to Step 5.
Using the Presentation Player's
Remote Display Function
The Presentation Player has a built-in image viewer and internal storage, so
you can give a presentation without an attached PC. All you need to do is load
the presentation files onto the system in advance, and then you can deliver a
presentation using the remote control. Or you can use the remote display func-
tion to switch between users during a presentation.
A. Make sure you have uploaded the necessary presentation files to the
Presentation Player.
B. Make sure that the Presentation
Player is connected to the projector
or monitor and that both devices are
powered on. The Home screen will
automatically appear.
B
C. There are two ways to play a pres-
entation.
Presentation List - Click the
Presentation List button to view
the presentation files that are
loaded onto the Presentation Player
(see Figure C). They are listed
C
under the name of the user's PC.
After you select a presentation file, click the Play button to start the pres-
entation.
Remote Control - Press the List button on the remote control. View the
presentation files that are loaded onto the Presentation Player. They are
listed under the name of the user's PC.
After you select a presentation file, press the Play button on the remote
control to start the presentation.
Congratulations! You are now able to run a presentation directly from
the Presentation Player.
