ENGLISH
PLEASE NOTE
Carefully read this 'Instruction Leaflet' before installing or using the luminaire. This leaflet provides
important information about the correct installation, use, maintenance and removal of this product.
GENERAL
Please observe the following guidelines:
1. The luminaire should only be installed by qualified personnel.
2. Installation should be performed in accordance with the British Standard (BS7671 and BS5266)
or European/International NEN 1010 / IEC 60364 / NBN C71100 / VDE0100.
3. This product may not be modified in any way what so ever or used for a purpose or in an
environment other than for which it was designed. Failing to observe this guideline will invalidate
the warranty and the CE compliance of this product.
4. Before installing or assembling the luminaire the supply must be isolated.
5. The LED light source of this luminaire is not replaceable; when the light source reaches its
end of life the whole luminaire shall be replaced
INSTALLING AND CONNECTING
The luminaire should be connected to the voltage equivalent to that indicated on the type label
attached to the side of the luminaire. Also see installation instructions and technical specifications.
The luminaire is rated with Insulation Class II. The earth terminal is provided for convenience only and
should not form part of any protective earthing.
By placing the red link wire between L1 and L2 on the connector terminal the luminaire can be switched on
and off. For the use of a switched live supply the red link must be left out.
SELF-TESTING
The luminaire has an automatic self-testing system. This system continuously monitors battery operation,
the light source(s), the electronics and communication module (when applicable). The amber LED will
indicate when one of the components is not working properly.
Additionally the following test-scheme applies:
Installation test: Test autonomy 1 or 3 hours (depending on the type), 36 hours after turning
on the mains. After battery replacement an installation test starts automatically.
Function test:
1 minute functional test - every week.
Duration test:
3 hour - 2 tests a year.
Postpone test:
Press test button for 3 seconds(ODD/EVEN mode). Functional and duration test
has been postponed for 24 hours with alternately flashing signal LEDs. Change setting
by briefly pressing the test button during ODD/EVEN mode (5 seconds).
The luminaire can also be tested manually with the test button. When pushing the button previous errors
will be "reset" and the battery will supply the LED. After 1 seconds an eventual error will be displayed.
The test scheme can be "reset" by pushing the test button for 10 seconds.
LUMINAIRES POWERED FROM CENTRAL BATTERY SYSTEMS
Slave models are tested from the central battery system only.
REMOTE AND PC MANAGED TESTING SYSTEM MODELS
For IR2 or CT-Naveo test models an additional communications pcb/module is fitted. This allows for
additional functionality concerning control and communication (see the instruction sheet provided with
the test luminaire).
BATTERIES
A fault will occur when test results for duration no longer meet the requirements indicated for the luminaire.
The batteries must then be replaced. Please see the label on the batteries for the type required.
Used batteries must be recycled or disposed of in the correct manner and must not be put with household
waste or landfill.
PLEASE NOTE!
Constant voltage is required and the batteries must be sufficiently charged for emergency lighting to
function properly. Failure to observe this requirement can damage the batteries, the light source or, in the
worst-case scenario, the luminaires electronics.
INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE
ABB strongly advises annual inspection & maintenance of your emergency lighting installation.
