    GENERAL INFORMATION The Nutrient Removing Filtration System (NRFS) is a denitrifying media treatment vault that is commonly used at the end of a detention pond or for off line pretreatment applications. The NRFS is an orifice driven treatment vault for the removal of phosphorus, nitrogen and total suspended solids.

    OPERATION INFORMATION The Nutrient Removing Filtration System utilizes Bold & Gold biosorption activated media without the need for cartridge filters affording a more cost effective and efficient solution. Furthermore, the use of Bold & Gold media can accommodate high flow rates without organics which degrade and lose effectiveness over time.

    REQUIREMENTS & PARTS Minimum Equipment Requirements The use of a vacuum truck is required for servicing of the Nutrient Removing Filtration System. Service crews are recommended to check all local, state and federal guidelines for servicing and disposal of any collected debris and sediments. Structural Components The structural components of the NRFS are designed to have a life span of several decades.

    NRFS MAINTENANCE Summary The Nutrient Removing Filtration System is easily serviced with the use of a vacuum truck combined with the equipped HydroSlide® service system. The HydroSlide system allows the media to be back flushed and reused during servicing without removal. Furthermore, the vacuum system eliminates the need for confined space entry.

    BOLD & GOLD INFORMATION Bold & Gold is a Biosorption Activated Media used for pollution control to reduce nitrogen, phosphorus, TSS and turbidity levels in stormwater. High phosphorus and nitrogen levels have the potential to compromise human health as well as ecosystem integrity. Bold & Gold media is ideal for pretreatment prior to rainwater harvesting or following detention prior to discharge into receiving bodies of water.

    BOLD & GOLD REPLACEMENT Media Replacement Procedure (If Necessary) It is estimated that the physical filtration and biological activity of Bold & Gold may last indefinitely. However, the sorbent surface bonding may diminish after a period of 15 years and therefore may require replacement.

    SKIMBOSS MAX INFORMATION General Information The included SkimBoss MAX Skimmer prevents floating solids ® and liquids from passing through the vault. Through the use of Hydro-Variant Technology , the SkimBoss MAX Skimmer can ® automatically adjust to accommodate variations in water level and flow with a negligible head loss.

    WARRANTY Warranty Information Oldcastle Infrastructure products are engineered and manufactured with the intent of being a permanent part of the infrastructure. Oldcastle Infrastructure warranties its products to be free from any manufacturing defects for a period of 5 years from the purchase date. In the event a warranty claim is made and determined to be valid, Oldcastle Infrastructure will replace or repair the product at their own discretion.
