Instructions to install the Patio Bolt.
Note: Will fit Aluminium and Timber doors of following style: Patio, Sliding and Hinged.
Installation Tools Required:
Safety
Drill
Gloves
Goggles
If you are replacing an existing bolt, remove existing bolt, clean down surfaces and follow the installation process.
Step 1: Preparation
Determine the type of door
you will be installing to.
Make sure you choose the
best fixing location for your
door. The Patio Bolt can be
fitted to the rear or face of
a sliding door and the face
of an inward opening door
with keeper provided.
Try to avoid fitting the Patio
Bolt at the bottom of a door
as the hole might penetrate
the sill and this may allow water to enter. Accuracy is vital, so mark and measure
carefully and drill holes level.
Step 3: Bolt
Option 1: The bolt of the patio lock fully engages the door frame.
marked
position
If the bolt of the patio lock fully engages the door
frame, make sure the door is properly closed and
tap the end of the bolt against the frame to mark
the drilling position. Using a hole punch or a nail,
punch the centre of the holes before drilling to
make sure drill bit does not move.

Step 2: Installing the Patio Bolt to door
Hold Patio Bolt in desired position
and mark the centre of the 2 x
installation holes. Using a hole
punch or a nail, punch the centre
of the holes before drilling to
make sure drill bit does not move.
Drill 2 x 4mm holes at the marked
positions. Install the Patio Bolt to
the door using the appropriate
screw type (Timber or Metal
thread) for the type of door.
Note: If installing to a glass door, make sure that the screws will clear the glass
line. Also check that the Patio Bolt will not interfere with the door frame in the
closed or open position.
