Any other use than the one described above may lead to damage to the product and involves
other risks, such as shorts, fire, etc.

these safety instructions. We do not assume any liability for any resulting
damage.
We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused
by incorrect handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions. In such

permitted. Never dismantle the product.
The product is intended for use only in dry indoor locations. It must not get damp or wet.

This product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children. Only use the product

out of the reach of children. The product contains small parts and a battery that could be
swallowed.

Therefore, wait until it has reached room temperature before using it.
Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, as it could become a dangerous

plaything for children.
Do not expose the product to high temperatures, strong vibrations or heavy mechanical

loads.
2.2 Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of the reach of children.

Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; they could be swallowed by

children or pets. If they are swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
Leaking or damaged normal / rechargeable batteries in contact with the skin can cause acid

burns; therefore, use suitable safety gloves.
Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into fi re.

There is a risk of explosion!
Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries, risk of explosion! Only charge re-

chargeable batteries that are intended for this purpose; use a suitable battery charger.
Check that the polarity is correct when inserting the battery/rechargeable battery (pay at-

tention to plus/+ and minus/-).
3 Installation
Please proceed in the following sequence:
1. Insert the suspension bracket, if necessary, to the hand shaft (required only for Item no.
2521706).
2. Insert the supplied rubber washer to the hand shaft.
3. Insert the clock from the back through the hole in the dial and align it with the hanger
horizontally from above.
4. Place the shim on the hand shaft and screw the clock in place using the central hexagon
nut. Do not tighten the nut too tightly to avoid distortion and damage.
5. Insert the hour hand fi rst and then the minute hand gently to the hand shaft and secure
the minute hand using the small knurled nut. If a second hand is used, the cap nut can be
used to cover the hand shaft. For Item no. 2521706, the minute hand must not be secured.
6. Finally insert the second hand into the hand shaft, if used.
7. Align all the hands of the clock to the 12:00 o'clock position.
8. Make sure that the hands are aligned parallel to the dial, so that you cannot touch or drag
on the dial during subsequent operation.
The minute and second hands should not exceed the following dimensions and
weights:
Minute hand: max. 160 mm / 6 g
Second hand: max. 130 mm / 6g
Inserting the Battery/Rechargeable Battery
Insert a battery of the 1.5V AA/Mignon type into the battery compartment on the back of the

case. The correct polarity is indicated in the battery compartment.
Replacing the battery is necessary when the clock stops or the accuracy of movement

decreases.
A rechargeable battery may be used, but due to the lower voltage output (rechar-
geable battery = 1.2V, standard battery = 1.5V) and the lower capacity, the service
life is shorter.
Setting the time
Set the time by turning the adjustment knob with the clock symbol on the back of the case. The
adjustment knob can be rotated in both directions here.
4 Maintenance and Cleaning
To clean the clock, a dry, soft and clean cloth or a brush is suffi cient. Do not use any chemical
cleaning agents, as they can discolour the plastic case.
5 Disposal
5.1 Product
All electrical and electronic equipment placed on the European market must be
labelled with this symbol. This symbol indicates that this device should be disposed
of separately from unsorted municipal waste at the end of its service life.
All owners of waste equipment are obliged to dispose of waste equipment separa-
tely from unsorted municipal waste. Before handing the old device to a collection
point, end users are required to separate old batteries which are not enclosed by
the old device, as well as lamps which can be removed from the old device without
any damage.
Distributors of electrical and electronic equipment are legally required to accept waste equip-
ment free of charge. Conrad provides the following return options free of charge (more details
on our website):
At our Conrad stores

At the collection points established by Conrad

At the collection points of public waste disposal agencies or at the collection systems set up

by manufacturers and distributors in accordance with the German Electrical and Electronic
Equipment Act.
The end user is responsible for deleting personal data on the old device before disposal.
Please note that in countries outside Germany, other obligations may apply to the return and
recycling of old devices.
5.2 Batteries
If a battery is inserted, remove it and dispose of it separately from the product. As the end user,
you are required by law to return all used batteries (Battery Directive). They must not be placed
in household waste.
Batteries/rechargeable batteries containing hazardous substances are labelled with
this symbol to indicate that disposal in household waste is forbidden. The abbre-
viations for heavy metals in batteries are: Cd=Cadmium, Hg=Mercury, Pb=Lead
(marked on batteries, e.g., under the rubbish bin symbol shown to the left).
Used batteries can be returned to local collection points, our stores or battery retailers. You thus
fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to environmental protection.
Before disposal, the exposed contacts of batteries must be fully covered with a piece of adhe-
sive tape to prevent short-circuits. Even if batteries are depleted, the remaining energy may
present a hazard in the event of a short-circuit (bursting, severe heating, fire, explosion).
