You can easily place the lamp on any surface, using either the included table clamp to attach it to a table top, or purchase the table stand separately to place the lamp on your desk.

Make sure the bracket is firmly attached and that the surface touches the back of the bracket. Insert the bottom stem of the arm into the hole in the bracket and put the power cord into the socket.
