    1 Structure of the DE-40 Display The DE-40 dialogue unit is equipped with a touch-sensitive graphic LCD display with backlight. After some time without active operation, the backlight switches to power- saving mode and is dimmed. When the unit is operated again or if an error occurs, the display is switched back to bright.

    1.1 The Home screen By default, the DE-40 displays the home screen. This shows the status of the control unit and the various functions of the system can be called up. Info on the condition of the system Calling up investment Calling up heating Call up ventilation information and settings...

    2 Heating functions To access the heating functions, press the button on the Home screen. The following screen is now displayed: Here you can select a room for further settings or switch to setback mode. Press the button to return to the Home screen. 2.1 Setback/comfort mode If you are not at home for a longer period of time, you can save heating costs by switching the heating to setback mode.

    2.2 Change heating programme If you want to change a heating programme, you must first select the corresponding room. In this case, the heating programme for room 1 is to be changed. To do this, press button 1. The display then changes The heating programmes are loaded from the central unit, depending on whether this computer is busy elsewhere, this may take a few seconds.

    2.2.2 Setting the room temperatures One comfort or setback temperature can be set per room. These values are valid for the entire heating programme per room (entire week). It is not possible to set an individual temperature per day. 2.2.2.1 Adjust comfort temperature To adjust the comfort temperature, the button must be pressed.

    2.2.3 Setting the time programme Up to two intervals for the comfort temperature can be set per day. During these two intervals, the rooms are heated to the comfort temperature. The setback temperature applies for the rest of the time. Interval T1 is always present, interval T2 can be switched on or off as required.

    2.2.3.1 Setting interval T1 If the times for T1 are to be changed, the T1 key must be pressed. A pop-up appears. Now set the desired switch-on or switch-off time with the + and – buttons. The minimum interval length is ½h. Press the T1 key again to accept the times.

    3.1 Switching operating mode If a ventilation level is to be switched on manually, the button with the desired level 1, 2, 3 or 4 must be pressed. A pop-up window appears. Now use the + and – buttons to set how long the ventilation should run at this level until it switches back to automatic mode.

    3.3 Setting the ventilation programme Press the button to change the display to the screen for setting the ventilation programmes. In this screen, the ventilation programmes can be adjusted according to your needs. Important note: For the ventilation to work properly, a valid time must be entered. See also chapter 4.2.

    3.3.2 Setting the ventilation levels A daily programme consists of 48 intervals, i.e. one interval per ½h. A ventilation level can be preselected for each of these intervals. You can now preselect the desired ventilation level with the buttons 1, 2, 3 or 4.

    4 Information and settings You can access the information via the home screen by pressing the key. The adjacent picture is now displayed. Information on the control status is displayed here. In detail, these are: Address Communication address of the peripheral unit Version Software version of the DE-40 and the peripheral unit Komm.

    4.2 Setting the time and date In this screen, the date and time can be set. The procedure for setting is as follows: Select the field that is to be changed. The selected field is highlighted in blue (in the picture above this would be the month).

    Parameter operation The parameters for operation can be set here. The parameters can be changed with the corresponding + and – keys. Helligkeit Display brightness Value range = 10% - 100%.     4.3.1 Cleaning the display This picture is specially designed for cleaning the display. It has no buttons that could be pressed accidentally during cleaning. This prevents unwanted actions from being triggered. The image is active for 15 seconds, after which the display automatically jumps back one level. During this time, the display can be cleaned.
