Contaminants in the refrigerant can cause corrosion of the refrigerant piping, damage to the compressor, and lead to failure of the refrigerant circuit.

(b) When using R134a refrigerant, if the suction pressure falls below 26 - 27 psi (179 - 186 kPa), the hot gas by-pass valve opens to allow gaseous refrigerant from the discharge (high-pressure) side of the compressor to flow directly into the suction (low-pressure) side.

The AFS is normally open (NO) and ensures adequate airflow is available to support heating and cooling operations and serves as an interconnect for energizing the compressor or heat stages.

When towing or transporting by lifting equipment, care should be taken to ensure all access doors/panels, hose(s), and ground power cable(s) are securely closed/fastened in place.

A full fuel tank prevents moisture-laden air from entering the tank and prevents rust or corrosion from forming.
