Mediheat V500
Veterinary Operating Table Heated Mat
Operating Instructions
Description
The V500 is an electronically controlled heated mat designed to reduce the heat loss suffered by small
animals/mammals during operations. It can also be used for post operative recovery.
The mat is constructed from tough ABS plastic. The heated area is made from clear anodised aluminium
to aid cleaning and sterilisation, and is bonded to the top of the plastic casing.
An electronic thermostat accurately controls the temperature, which has been pre-set to 37°c. Heater
function is displayed via an Amber light.
Instructions for use
Operation
Connect the three-pin plug to a suitable power supply and switch on. The Amber Heater and Red Power
lights should illuminate. The mat will warm up fairly rapidly, and correct functioning of the thermostat will
be indicated when the heater light extinguishes.
The thermostat will keep the surface temperature of the tray at 37°c ± 2°c, but it is strongly recommended
that the temperature is checked both before and periodically during use.
When the unit has reached operating temperature, the heater light will cycle on and off. The Red Power
light will remain illuminated whilst the unit is connected to power.
Maintenance
Always disconnect the unit from the mains power supply before attempting to clean it.
The unit should only be cleaned with mild detergents and sterilising solutions. Under no circumstances
should solvents of any kind be used to clean the unit.
The V500 is classified as IPX1. This means that it is not water proof, but can withstand ingress of a small
splash of water. When cleaning the unit, only a damp cloth should be used.
Although the unit is splash proof, care should be taken to prevent contact with water or other liquids whilst
in use.
In the event of water entering the unit, it should be returned to the supplier for inspection by the
manufacturer.
