THANK YOU for buying this product. To help ensure it gives complete satisfaction please install it according to these instructions
and then pass the instructions to the appropriate person for retention and future reference.
SAFETY This is a mains voltage powered luminaire. It is designed to be installed by suitably qualified personnel only
and in accordance with the applicable building and electrical regulations. Before installation or maintenance, the
electrical supply to the luminaire must be isolated.

reporting a suspected fault or seeking installation support the problem is likely to be resolved more quickly if you have full product
details to-hand, as well as details of when and where it was purchased.
LUMINAIRE INSTALLATION
1.
Remove small security screw from bottom edge of luminaire.
2.
Unclip the bottom edge of the front cover using a flat blade screwdriver by inserting into & releasing the 2 clips on the
bottom edge, then lift upwards to free it from the top edge of the body.
3.
The front cover can be fully removed by clipping the small 3-pin connector from the main PCB.
4.
Prepare the fixing surface at the fixing centres shown in the diagram & provide a mains supply cable.
5.
Pass the mains supply cable through the cable entry hole in the base, offer the base up to the fixing surface & secure.
6.
Route the mains supply cable to the terminal block & terminate, ensuring correct polarity is observed.
NOTE! THIS LUMINAIRE MUST BE EARTHED
7.
Connect the battery pack to the 2-pole connector on the main PCB & write the "installed date" in the allocated position.
8.
Reconnect the front cover 3-pin connector to the main PCB.
9.
This product comes with the Euro "Running Man legend with DOWN arrow" legend (as per diagram above) as standard.
If an alternative legend is required, see ALTERNATIVE LEGEND PANELS section below.
10. Refit the front cover by locating the top edge into the body, then rotating down to clip in the bottom edge. Refit & tighten
the small security screw.
11. Connect the power supply & check that the green LED charge indicator illuminates.
12. The batteries should be allowed to charge for an uninterrupted period of at least 24 hours before carrying out a full
discharge test to check they are charging correctly & the maintained duration is being achieved.
ALTERNATIVE LEGEND PANELS (SUPPLIED SEPARATELY)
This product comes as standard with the Euro "Running Man legend with the DOWN arrow". Alternative direction Running Man
legends & the ISO Running Man Through Door legends are also available from NVC as separate items – Please contact your
local supplier.
To change legends:
1.
Remove the front cover as detailed above & disconnect the connector from the main PCB.
2.
On the inside face, unclip the illuminated panel by flexing open the front moulded trim on one side.
3.
This will expose the thin legend panel, so it can be removed & replaced with the new one.
4.
Clip the illuminated panel back into the front moulded trim.
5.
Refit the front cover as detailed above.

  • Page 2 OPERATION / MAINTENANCE This unit is using Lithium Iron Phosphate cell (LiFeP04) in its battery pack. These batteries require close monitoring and protection circuitry to operate safely. This pack uses a dedicated protection built into the module unit. Ensure identical batteries are used in any replacement maintenance. Nominal battery life is designed to be at least 4 years.
