Switchpanels Introduction Switchpanels are located in four places on Omnicell units: on a shelf, in a supply drawer or pull- out shelf, on a suture rack and on a catheter rack. The switchpanels, commonly referred to as button bars, are used to aid in the identification of specific items in a dispenser unit. When a user selects an item from the dispenser unit, the LEDs on the switchpanel light up and indicate the location of the product.
Doors 5-1 Introduction Doors Introduction Omnicell 1-,2-, and 3-cell cabinets and half-cell units have doors that are similar, but can be different sizes. The standard sizes for a door on a 1-, 2-, or 3-cell cabinet are: (A) full height, 2/3 height (next page), (B) 1/3 height and (C) CT PC Door.
The Omnicell Sensing Lid (OSL) models have sensing lids. As each lid is lifted, the system senses and records access to the bin. This guarantees security to those drawers that contain controlled substances.
Manual Override Introduction In the event of a hospital electrical power failure or an extended power outage, all Omnicell cabinets can be opened with a manual override mechanism. A series of locks, levers and linkages provide access to the supply doors, pharmacy drawers and pharmacy drawer bins.
