Ensure the operator in charge of the weigher is an experienced stock
person who can maintain a high standard of animal welfare.
Ensure that there is sufficient space in the area designated for the
weigher to allow the operator to work safely and efficiently.
If using an adjoining race and pen with the weigher should be of
sufficient build for the safety of both animals and operators.
Training
Do not attempt to carry out any procedure on a machine unless you have
received the appropriate training or read the instruction manual.
Retain all instructions in a safe place for future reference.

- Page 4 Operating Instructions The Ritchie Pig & Lamb Weigher can be easily operated from either side by one operator. When the weigher is at the desired location. Go to one side of the weigher, push to tilt the weigher onto one side, the wheel will lower. Move it further round toward the exit and lower the weigher.
- Page 5 If the animal is to be drafted left or right, then the handle on that side should be pulled towards the entrance (fig 15) to release the locking pin (fig 16 & 17) and swung outwards to open the gate (fig 18).
