- Page 2 Fire pits ship pre-assembled with burner assembly. Refer to burner manual for installation instructions, including clearances to combustibles and operating instructions. Each fire pit has ventilation openings to comply with ventilation requirements, DO NOT COVER OPENINGS. Ventilation openings may be used to accommodate running a gas line. If the gas line needs to be placed in a different location, a hole can be drilled in the fire pit using a 1” paddle bit. UNPACKING FIRE PIT Carefully unpack fire pit from box. Inspect pieces for any damages before beginning installation. Fire pits must be handled with care. The most common source of damage is mis-handling of product before installation. Before beginning gas installation, ensure that the final location for the fire pit is a flat, level surface. If the fire pit does not sit level, shim appropriately so it is level and evenly supported. FINISHING INSTALLATION After gas connections are complete as per burner manual, set burner tray into position. A bag of lava rock is provided and must be placed on top of the burner surface before placing decorative stone media on top of burner. Next, distribute beach stone or crushed glass over entire surface area (covering lavarock). Heat-treated aggregate can be purchased through DEKKO. DO NOT USE UNTREATED AGGREGATE. CAUTION! Each DEKKO fire pit includes a decorative aggregate option: bronze crushed glass, black lava rock or beach stone. Please note that lava rock and beach stone are both 100% natural products and occasional cracking and/or popping may occur when heated. DEKKO CONCRETE Firepit Installation Guide, Page 1...
- Page 3 CARE & MAINTENANCE Always ensure that your fire pit is draining water properly and drainage/ventilation openings are not obstructed by debris. Cover your fire pit when not in use for extended periods of time. Concrete can be cleaned with a mild soap and water solution. Never use abrasives or strong chemicals as they may stain the surface. A spill should be cleaned immediately by carefully blotting the spill with a paper towel or clean white towel. Do not ‘wipe’ a spill as it may force the potential stain deeper into the surface. If the stain persists, contact DEKKO for further instru- citons. Sealing your firepit for additional protection is optional but not required. If desired, you can seal the surface of your outdoor firepit with a WATER BASED OUTDOOR SEALER . Hairline cracks may occur in your concrete product. This should not alarm you as it is a natural characteristic of concrete. All of our prodcuts are fibre re-inforced so cracks do not have the potential to grow or seperate. WARRANTY DEKKO warrants our products to be free from manufacturing defects in material for one year from the date of shipping, subject to the following conditions: ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, ARE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THIS WARRANTY. In all events, DEKKO liability is limited to the cost of replacing the defective part or parts as determined by DEKKO. DEKKO shall not be liable for any special, incidental or consequential damages caused as a result of any defect. To make a claim under this limited warranty for a manufacturing defect or defect in material, you must notify DEKKO in writing at info@dekko.ca (Attn. Warranty Department) This warranty does not apply to, and DEKKO assumes no responsibility for damage or defect due to any one of the following: 1. Improper handling, maintenance, or installation of product. 2. Modification or alteration to the product in any manner which increases its susceptibility to damage. 3.
