    Matrix Introduction The DSS45 is a versatile, user friendly, compact, feature-rich Operator Console. The DSS45 is an effective tool to manage calls efficiently. The DSS45 is extensively used in offices, factories, hotels, hospitals and other business establishments to increase productivity. The DSS45 is shown in the figure below.
  • Page 8 • The DSS45 offers auto hands free mode. • The DSS45 offers four levels of volume in handset speech. • The DSS45 has a mice and a speaker for hands free operation. • The DSS45 can be programmed for four different ringer modes.

    • Use DSS45 at temperatures between +5°C (41°F) and +55°C (131°F). • Make sure that DSS45 is at least one meter away from any radio equipment, such as pagers, television sets, device containing coils, otherwise its performance may be impaired.

  • Page 11 Please note that if DSS45 is used with Focus or Empire then it should be connected to the thick cable of the splitter cable and if DSS45 is used with Team then it should be connected to the thin cable. The other end of the cable having RJ11 connector is to be connected to DSS45.

  • Page 13 Connect the DB-9 connector end of the cable to the splitter cable. • Please note that if DSS45 is used with Focus or Empire then it should be connected to the thick cable of the splitter cable and if DSS45 is used with Vision or Team then it should be connected to the thin cable.

  • Page 18 The Programmable Keys • As explained, DSS45 houses in all 45 keys. These keys are functionally divided into four groups viz. Extension DSS keys, Trunk DSS keys, Dialing keys and Special function keys.
  • Page 19 Special Function Keys: • The DSS45 possess 12 function specific keys viz. ‘func’, ‘vol’, ‘spk’, ‘hold’, ‘trf/fl’, ‘spd’, ‘redial’, ‘ans’, ‘page’, ‘page’, ‘ack’, ‘conf’. ‘vol’ key is physically one key but does two functions, to increase and decrease the volume.

  • Page 22 This feature is helpful in noisy conditions. • Two-way speakerphone: DSS45 has a mike and a speaker for hands-free operation. Speakerphone has 8 levels of volume control. Press ‘spk’ key to activate speakerphone with handset on hook.
  • Page 23 • Ringer volume control: When you receive a call on DSS45, buzzer the rings. You can increase or decrease volume of ringer. This can be done when DSS45 is ringing. Press ‘up’ or ‘down’ arrow to increase or decrease ringer volume. 8-level volume control in 8 steps is available.

    SE mode. Doing so the system restarts. If the handshake between DSS45 and the system is proper, “OPERATOR ABSENT” message is displayed on the LCD. If DSS45 is to be taken out of service, it should be deactivated. This could be done either from DSS45 to any other extension.
