Installation and Programming Guide.
1. Installation
1. Mount the WSAB1 Converter (as described in section 3).
2. Mount the WSAB1External Sounder (see section 2).
3. Install a 6v 1.2Ah rechargeable lead acid battery and a 9v (PP3) alkaline battery into the WSAB1
sounder.
N.B. The unit cannot be triggered for Six minutes.
4. Switch Battery switch in sounder to 'ON'.
5. Fit WSAB1 Sounder cover.
2. Positioning the WSAB1 External Sounder
The WSAB1 is a wireless external sounder powered by natural daylight. Therefore it is recommended that
you position the WSAB1 in an area with an optimum amount of daylight. Try to avoid area of shadows
from roof overhangs or shadows from trees. Because the sounder is wireless it is also recommended to
avoid positions close to metal gutters or drainpipes.
3. Mounting the WSAB1 Converter
The WSAB1 converter should be mounted vertically adjacent to the alarm control panel.
Connect the following terminals:
WSAB1 Converter
+12v
GND
Bell
STB
TAMP
F/L
F/L
4. Mounting the WSAB1 External Sounder.
Mount theWSAB1 externally using fixings applicable to the mounting surface. Ensure that an additional
screw is used adjacent to the tamper switch to provide wall removal detection.

  • Page 2 5. Programming the WSAB1 The WSAB1 converter and sounder are already pre-programmed. Normally you do not need to reprogram. To reprogram: 1. Switch off the Sounder battery switch. Ensure both batteries are connected. 2. Ensure the converter is connected to panel.
  • Page 3 Fig 2. Sounder 7. Supervision The WSAB1 sounder will send supervisory signals to the converter every hour to ensure integrity of the radio link. If the converter does not receive any supervisory signals from the WSAB1 sounder within 4 consecutive hours a fault signal will be generated at the fault output.
