Doro Secure
241 is a passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor for indoor usage,
compatible with the European social alarm standard for radio transmitters.
Movements are detected by sensing the energy e.g. from a warm body, as it moves
across the motion coverage area of the sensor. When this motion is detected, the
sensor transmits a signal to the main unit.

Package contents:

• Motion sensor
• 9V Alkaline MN1604/6LR61 battery
• 2 angle plates (1 mandatory and 1 optional)
• 2 screws and wall plugs
• 12m wide angle motion coverage lens (mounted by default), 18m long range motion
coverage lens and pet adapted lens

Suitable locations

®
We recommend a Doro Secure
241 in the most used room, or if there are several
rooms that are widely used, install one sensor in each room.

Unsuitable locations

To avoid false alarms and malfunctions, do not install the sensor:
• In places where the temperature may fall below 0°C or rise above +50°C, as there
would be a risk of the sensor not operating properly.
• In locations with heat producing devices i.e. air conditioners and furnace vents,
fans, ovens or heaters etc. because the sensor reacts on temperature changes.
Kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms must be avoided.
• Aiming at direct or reflected (mirror) sunlight as this may distort the coverage
pattern.

Installation

Make sure that no cables, water pipes or gas pipes are located inside the
wall before drilling into it.
• Use the angle plates to fix the universal swivel mount on the wall in the desired
location, by screw. Suggested installation height is approximately 2.3m.

Setup

1.
Use a small Philips screwdriver to remove the cover.
2.
Connect the battery.
3.
Stabilization time of approximately 45 seconds.
4.
Replace the cover.
5.
Perform a
"Walk
test".
6.
Optional: to increase battery life set Switch 4 to OFF.

Walk test

After mounting the sensor it is important to carry out a Walk test to determine the
actual motion coverage area of the sensor. Walk test is automatically activated for
three minutes when the battery is connected.
The mounting angle can be adjusted using the optional angle plate. Determine
the best angle and adjust the sensor upwards to increase range and downwards to
decrease range.
To activate Walk test; disconnect the battery and connect it again.

Pair/register with Doro main unit

Follow the manual of the Doro main unit section about pairing, and activate pairing
mode. When the Doro main unit is in pairing mode; activate pairing on Doro Secure
by tampering the motion detector. The radio range of the detector varies depending on
the environment in which it is used. Walls, floors, furniture and other obstacles may limit
coverage.

Clean

Use a slightly damp cloth to clean the surface of the cover. Normally only dusting is
needed. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaners.
