    AddSeat Safety tips and guidelines Your AddSeat has a unique ability to balance and because it is so easy to use you rapidly become very confident. BUT please ”Do not drive over your ability!” If you exceed the balance of your AddSeats such as driving over obstacles, uneven ground, on slippery surfaces, on loose surfaces or steep hills, you can quickly lose control causing you to collide, fall over and injure yourself.
  • Page 16 AddSeat • Rocking back and forth is fun but dangerous. If it is a bit slippery, you will probably fall in the end if you are not careful. • Watch out in the turns! Always slow down before a turn. Quick turns can lead to loss of control.

    AddSeat IInfoKey Contoller buttons and display On/Off button The On/Off button has two functions. 1. You start and shut down your AddSeat by pressing the button, hold the button down until the machine turns on or off. 2. To get to the parking mode when your AddSeat been in the driving mode, you must first press the marked parking handle forward with a quick push and and press the On/Off button with a quick press that will turn the motors off and the face symbol goes down.

    AddSeat Adjust the Steering rod Your AddSeat is equipped with a special steering rod/ handlebar that can be raised and lowered. The top of the steering rod can also be picked off so that you can more easily get in and out of your AddSeat! Adjusting the Steering rod/handlebar height Depending on your height and how high the seat is off the ground, you may need to adjust the Steering rod height.

    AddSeat The seat in your AddSeat can be adjusted in many different ways: - Raised and lowered by using a pneumatic pump. - Moved forward or backward through a handle. - The backrest can be folded for easier transportation in a car. To raise and lower the seat When you want to raise the seat, simply press the grey button under the seat next to the steering rod.

    AddSeat Changing a tyre If you have to replace a wheel and tyre on your AddSeat you can find the wheel nuts (3 pieces) either under a protective cup in the middle of the tyre, if the hub is an original Segway tyre or easily accessible if an alloy wheel. Start by power off your AddSeat and ensure that both parking stands are down.

    AddSeat Care and Maintenance Your AddSeat is constructed to in practical be maintenance free. However, make sure it is clean, all the parts are mounted and work as they should, bat- teries are charged, and tiers are pumped before driving. Lack of care, main- tenance and service may lead to property damage.

    AddSeat Charge the batteries NOTE Your AddSeat’s batteries should be charged at least 12 hours before it is used for the first time. The two Lithium-ion batteries are probably already installed in your AddSeat when it is delivered. They are placed under the platform. To maximize battery performance, always charge the vehicle when not in use.

    AddSeat Charge the variable height seat battery if fitted While charging your AddSeats regular batteries, you should also take the op- portunity to charge the battery for raising and lowering the seat. The battery is placed behind the charging port for the seat, see picture below. To charge the battery for the height adjustable seat, simply connect the charging contact to the charging port, see picture.

    AddSeat Speed Limiter To limit the speed as you approach your AddsSeats maximum speed, it will right itself and the handle forcing your position back- ward. If your AddSeat is in Turtle mode will this occurs at a lower rate than if it would be in normal mode.

    AddSeat Safety Shutdown If the AddSeat detects a fault in any of its redundant systems or a Battery is depleted beyond its safe limit, it performs a Safety Shutdown When a Safety Shutdown occurs, the AddSeat automatically reduces its speed, gives the Stick Shake Warning, make growling noises, flashes the Ba- lance Indicator lights, emits a warning tone, and the InfoKey Controller dis- plays an unhappy face You have approximately 10 seconds from the start of a Safety Shutdown...

Do not drive with in 1.5 meters of any theft detection system. WARNING Do not drive your AddSeat after a Safety Shutdown has occur until you know what caused it and have done something about it.

    AddSeat How the Gyro handle work When you drive your AddSeat it is in Balance Mode. Another important mode for your AddSeat is the parking Mode. To switch between these two modes, flip up or down one of the parking handles, that of those who are market and connected to the gyro.

Look at what is happening in front of the wheels. Your eyes are the most important tool you have to avoid obstacles and problems.

In or- der to not lose tyre grip to the ground, you have to be careful when driving on surfaces that can be slippery! Learn to recognize slip, such as water, ice, oil, loose gravel, sand, steep slopes and different types of obstacles.

When your AddSeat lose grip, it will slip, which can lead to loss of control and fall.
