9181 Base Station Transceiver and 9183 Repeater
Antenna Installation in a Division 2 Hazardous Location
This drawing shows the proper antenna installation for the 9181 base station transceiver and the
9183 repeater for use in a previously determined Division 2 hazardous location. The 9181
transceiver, the 9183 repeater, and the splitter (if used) must be installed in a non-hazardous area.
To avoid the risk of explosion, the cable must be a maximum length of 60 feet (18.29 m) from the
9181 transceiver or the 9183 repeater to the antenna. If you use a splitter, the cable must be a
maximum length of 10 feet (3.04 m) from the 9181 transceiver or the 9183 repeater to the splitter,
and a maximum length of 50 feet (15.24 m) from the splitter to the antenna (as shown in the
diagram below).
