Please read all the instructions before you begin the procedure. Confirm that you
have all the necessary tools and materials. If you have any questions, technical support is
available toll free at 1-800-866-4344, Monday-Saturday 9:00 – 5:00 ET
Tools Needed:
- 7/16" socket and ratchet
- ¼" nut driver
Materials Needed:
- Ash Lip part # W-301-AL
- (2) 1 3/8" hex bolts
Note: The ash lip is designed as a radiation shield for the front of the Progress Hybrid
wood stove. When properly installed it blocks radiant heat energy in front of the stove
and reduces the required size of the hearth as well as the thermal protection needed in
front of the stove. He ash lip can be installed after the bottom heat shield or optional ash
pan have been installed but you will have better access to the mounting holes in the stove
base if the outer bottom shield or the front shield extension (ash pan option) is removed.
1. Make sure the fire is out and the stove is cool.
2. Remove the outer bottom heat shield or front shield extension.
3. Position the ash lip under the stove base at the front of the stove. The tabs on the
ash lip extensions should be pointed up. Slide the ash lip under the base until its
rear corners touch the inside of the angled corners in the stove base. If you have a
bottom heat shield, bend the front edge down for clearance.
