Thank you for purchasing one of our kits! ’ Introduction, stuff you ll need and some tips IMÁGENES is a dense but very straight-forward build. Requiring to solder only through- hole components as it comes with all SMD components pre-soldered, with its simple calibration procedure (V/Oct response only) qualifies as a medium difficulty build.

Once positioned, place the Control Board over them (the side without the pre-soldered SMD), flip the whole sandwich- thing around and then solder the sockets.
TRANSISTORS AND TEMPCO RESISTORS Transistor orientation is vital. Check that their curved and flat sides match those of the PCB silkscreen transistor’s outline. The tempco resistors must be touching the top of the transistor pairs to be thermally coupled with them and work as intended. If you have thermal paste on hand, apply a tiny bit between the transistor pairs and the tempcos before soldering.

Connecting the PCBs First of all, attach the two metal hex spacers to the CONTROL BOARD using a screwdriver (with just enough force, don’t overdo it). Make sure that the screws sit on the component side (front) and the main body of the spacers on the opposite side (back) like in the pictures below.
Page 9
Put the Control Board with its attached spacers facing up and components facing down. Then, place (but not solder yet) the pin headers in their respective positions with their male-side down, as in the following image: Now, place the Main Board on top (with its trimmers and power header facing up), wiggling the loose headers a bit until all pins emerge through the PCB.
Page 10
After soldering the headers, unscrew and carefully unplug the MAIN BOARD . Leave the spacers attached to the CONTROL BOARD as shown below. Hardware and front panel This part of the build is critical. Please read the following instructions carefully. Don’t solder anything until all of the following components are placed on the Control Board AND securely attached to the front panel.

TRIMMER POTENTIOMETERS Push them in (carefully) all the way into their positions, checking that they’re sitting flush with the PCB. Don’t solder them yet. Qty. Set aside the Knobs bag for now. Before placing on the front panel and soldering, the Control Board should look something like this (remember to leave the spacers attached! ): FRONT PANEL Place the front panel and adjust the loose components from the top if neccesary (using fine tweezers or something similar) until all their threadings come through, verifying that the front panel sits parallel to the Control Board, and that the metal-shaft pots and jacks are flush with the back of the panel.

KNOBS Put them onto the potentiometer shafts and tighten all the set screws with the provided hex key. INPUT LEVEL As the pot shaft is shorter than the rest, raise the knob a bit before attaching it to match the other knob’s height and to avoid it clamping onto the potentiometer’s thread.

Calibration On this last step, we’ll calibrate the V/OCT tracking response of the filters. When properly calibrated, IMÁGENES can track across a 5 octave range, so we’ll be aiming for that. You’ll need some kind of sequencer or keyboard that can output control voltages in the 1V/OCT pitch standard.
