  • Page 2 EZEE-ON MANUFACTURING Limited Warranty Policy NORTH AMERICA Ezee-On Manufacturing’s products are warranted to the original non-commercial purchaser to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a minimum period of twelve (12) months from the original date of purchase. Ezee-On Manufacturing’s obligation under this warranty shall be limited to the repair or exchange, at Ezee-On’s option, free of charge to the original purchaser, any part or component that, in our judgment, shows evidence of such defect.

In addition to having traditional Ezee-On reliable and durable chisel plow, your new implement incorporates a number of operational and safety features. We urge you to familiarize yourself with the operation and maintenance of your implements by reading this manual carefully.

Never allow anyone to ride on the tractor drawbar, or on the chisel plow. The person(s) riding may fall and be seriously or fatally injured.

  • Page 8 Transport Safety continued: 3. Do not exceed 10 mph (16 km/h) when transporting the chisel plow on smooth surfaces. Reduce your speed on rough surfaces. Do not transport the chisel plow with any other vehicle except a tractor. 4. When transporting the chisel plow with the wings folded (UP), be sure there is sufficient clearance under all power lines and other overhead obstructions.

  • Page 10 OPERATION & FIELD ADJUSTMENTS OPERATION 1. FIELD OPERATION A) See Fig. 1. Open both hydraulic lock up valves located at front of center frame. Position levers as shown. This will allow hydraulic oil to flow to hydraulic cylinders. B) Remove the wing lock-up pins and lower wings to field operating position. CAUTION: BE SURE PERSON(S) ARE STANDING CLEAR BEFORE STARTING OR MOVING THE TRACTOR AND CHISEL PLOW.
  • Page 11 2. FIELD ADJUSTMENTS: A) See Fig. 2. To level chisel plow from front to rear, raise or lower front of chisel plow by adjusting length of castor wheel links, Arrow 2. In general, when levelling chisel plow from front to rear the wing castor wheels should be adjusted first. Then adjust center section castor wheel so it is at same height as wing castor wheels.
  • Page 12 FIELD ADJUSTMENTS CONTINUED: E) See Fig. 3. The cutting depth is controlled by installing segment collars on the rockshaft cylinder shaft. Five (5) segments varying in length from 1" to 4-1/4" (25.4 to 107.9mm). Install these segments as required. F) The springs on the shank trip assembly are tightened seven (7) turns on the eye-bolts after the springs become snug.

Install the "SMV" emblem (not supplied by Ezee-On) in the "SMV" bracket bolted to the rear rockshaft bearing on center frame before transporting the chisel plow. CAUTION: BEFORE TRANSPORTING THE CHISEL PLOW ALWAYS LOCK THE ROCKSHAFT BY IN STALLING ALL THE DEPTH CONTROL SEGMENT (11-1/4" LG).
  • Page 15 Rear Tow Hitch Adjustment – Tow Hitch is available as an Option See Fig. 9. When towing equipment such as Model 160 2 wheel air seeder behind Model 7450 Chisel Plow, the air seeder hitch must be attached low enough so the air seeder hitch slopes down towards the chisel plow at about a 5 degree angle.

  • Page 17 LUBRICATION, MAINTENANCE & STORAGE 3. LUBRICATION A) See Figure 10. Lubricate all lubrication points, arrows "G", with grease before cultivating with a new unit. G1 - ROCKSHAFT BEARINGS: Lubricate the rockshaft bearings every 20 hours of use with a high quality multi-purpose SAE grease.
  • Page 18 LUBRICATION CONTINUED: (SECTION 1) C) See Fig. 11. Lubricate the rockshaft cylinder pins with oil once every 40 hours of operation. Be sure to coat the pin holes of shaft end clevis and pin hole in rockshaft arm. 4. MAINTENANCE A) All bolts and nuts should be checked periodically to make sure they are tight.
  • Page 19 MAINTENANCE CONTINUED: (SECTION 2) E) Replacing Walking Beam Bearings - See Fig. 12, 13, 14 and 15. E1) Remove old bearing cups from walking beam bearing tube then install two (2) new cups (#48510). E2) Place two (2) new cone bearings (#48548LA) in walking beam bearing tube.
  • Page 20 MAINTENANCE CONTINUED: CAUTION: LOWER THE CULTIVATOR COMPLETELY TO THE GROUND WHEN SERVICING. IF THE CULTIVATOR MUST BE SERVICED IN THE RAISED POSITION, INSTALL THE FULL SET OF DEPTH CONTROL SEGMENTS ON THE ROCKSHAFT CYLINDER. IF THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM FAILED, OR IF THE HYDRAULIC LEVER WAS ACCIDENTALLY OPERATED, THE AIR DRILL COULD DROP.
  • Page 21 5. STORAGE At the end of the season, do the following: A) Relieve the pressure in all hydraulic cylinders. Disconnect the hydraulic hoses from the tractor and cap them. B) Clean the cultivator and shanks. Coat them with oil or a rust preventative. C) Cover the cylinders and hoses with a weatherproof material if the cultivator is to be stored outdoors.
