    This manual is considered a part of the BrightDrop EP1 and should accompany the device if it is ever transferred or sold. This manual is not intended as a comprehensive use, service, repair or maintenance manual. Please contact your local BrightDrop distributor for all service, repairs or maintenance issues.
  • Page 5 Pre-Operation Safety Check The BrightDrop EP1 must be inspected every shift. Do not try to operate an EP1 that needs repairs or try to fix it yourself. Report all problems to your employer and tag the BrightDrop EP1 as out of service.
  • Page 6 The BrightDrop EP1 can tip over even when empty. Slow down for turns; push/pull smoothly and • slowly. If it does start to tip, move to a safe location away from the BrightDrop EP1 and sound horn or shout to alert pedestrians in the area.
  • Page 7 PARK and TAG OUT the EP1 if you experience any problems while you are working. Stop work and tell your supervisor. Make sure to tag the BrightDrop EP1 as out of service so others will not be injured by trying to use it. If any issues are found during the Pre-Operation Safety Check, get the issue fixed before start work or tag it out and use another BrightDrop EP1.
  • Page 8 The intended use of the BrightDrop EP1 is to be operated by an adult (age 18 and up) for transportation of goods in an occupational setting. Only use on paved or finished surfaces and in areas where permitted by law (not on roadways).

    Charging Port Label 10. Aluminum Serial Number Plate Know Your BrightDrop EP1 The BrightDrop EP1 is a classified as a TYPE E industrial device. It is an electrically powered unit that has minimum acceptable safeguards against inherent fire and electric shock hazards.
  • Page 10 Primary BrightDrop EP1 Power Switch is OFF. Motorized Assist Forward/Reverse Switch When pressed forward, the white rectangle on the switch will be visible. This indicates the BrightDrop EP1 will drive in a forward direction (see Figure 22). Motorized Assist Display On/Off and Battery Charge Display When activated, this display indicates the BrightDrop EP1 motorized assist is active.
  • Page 11 Figure 2 Primary Power Switch When this switch is pressed, it will light red to indicate the BrightDrop EP1 motorized assist system is receiving power from the battery pack. This is a toggle switch and will latch when pressed. Press a second time to unlatch the switch.

    Maintenance The BrightDrop EP1 does not have any user serviceable components. Do not open any of the components. Service should only be carried out at an authorized BrightDrop EP1 distributor. Failure to follow above warning can cause death or serious injury.
