Description
The P+P RescueRiggaMK2 Kit is a pre-rigged rescue kit developed for
remote capture & retrieval of a suspended casualty. In most cases a
suspended casualty can be rescued without the need to climb.
The effective rope working length is not affected by the pulley system
and a 50 metre standard system gives an operational recovery length of
approximately 50 metres.
The RescueRiggaMK2 Kit comes complete with a 3.5m Remote capture
Pole & P+P Super Clip. This effective 'Z' rig system incorporates a 'Lory'
Descender. 2 single pulleys are mounted on a 'Paw plate', with Jammers
fitted to the rope to assist in lift recovery. The innovative 9:1 pulley
system allows the casualty to be either raised or lowered to a safe
position.
Function
The P+P RescueRiggaMK2 Kit must be used with a full body harness to
EN361 to provide a rescue recovery system
P+P recommend that users are trained in the proper use and
practical/physical limitations of this system. Equipment specifiers / users
must ensure this system is used with compatible ropes and connectors.
Failure to ensure compatibility may result in an unsafe condition or even
connector/link failure.
All work at height including the use of Personal Protective
Equipment (PPE) as a control measure is subject to a suitable and

Using the System
The RescueRiggaMK2 kit is for personal use only. Only use EN362
connectors & EN1891 11mm low stretch kernmantle approved by P+P.
Selection of a suitable anchorage point is critical and must in all cases be
above the casualty and capable of taking a peak force of 12kN. This is
usually a structural strong point or anchorage to BSEN 795.
Instructions for use
Safely access the casualty, ensuring that the rescuer is attached
to the structure at all times or is suitably protected from a fall.
Position rescue bag onto structure & lift out rescue system.
Select suitable anchorage for the RescueRiggaMK2 system.
Attach the RescueRiggaMK2 anchorage using the P+P sling &
Kwiklock karabiner ensuring the karabiner gate is closed.
Extend the remote capture pole & attach the 'pre-armed' P+P
Super Clip to the end. Ensure the karabiner gate is fully open
in the Super Clip.
Using the extended pole with attached clip carefully hook the
open gate of the karabiner over the casualty's harness D ring.
Ensure you hook the harness D ring & not the arresting device
connector
A sharp tug on the remote capture pole will leave the rescue
rope & hook attached to the casualty's harness D ring.
The Rescue Rigga is pre-rigged to raise the casualty by pulling
down on the free end of the rope using a Hand Jammer
(optional Extra) the rope will feed through the 'Z' rig for
approximately 1 m.
