Page 6: Preparing For The Test
Preparing for the test • Relax • Sit or lay back comfortably, as can be seen in the picture (ﬁ g 1). Th e measurement process takes 20 minutes • Put the ﬁ rst belt around your belly, right on dry and clean skin, in the height of your navel, so that the smooth side of the velcro can touch directly the skin.

Locating and listening to fetal heart beat • The most important momentum in the test is to find the point on the abdominal wall where the fetal heartbeat can be heard at the loudest. • Patience! Sometimes it may take a minute, sometimes much more time, but the effort invested has its return during the test.

Locating heartbeat without conducting the test • If you use Fetaphon, you can locate the heartbeat of the fetus even without conducting the test! • For this please enter Main Menu, and select „Start”, but do not select the option! Now You will be able to hear the fetal heartbeat after the fetal heartbeat transducer is attached on Your belly as explained above.

Factors affecting the measurement 1. Ambient noise. The fetal heartbeat transducer is very sensitive, so loud ambient noise may lead to faulty measurement. 2. Movement. Relax for the measurement, and do not move while the testing is carried out. Enjoy listening to the calming little heartbeats of Your unborn child peacefully.
Page 21: Sending Test Data, Battery Recharge
If the charger cannot be connected, the device will automatically return to the Main Menu in 2 minutes and it will enter standby mode in 1 more minute, and the display will go blank. The Fetaphon device stores the tests conducted and automatically transfers the results when the charger is connected.

At this point, the modem integrated into Fetaphon device activates and connects to the mobile (GSM) network. Then it sends the test results to Fetaphon internet server. Reading message • Fetaphon device can only receive messages when it is connected to the charger. Choose “Read message” sub- menu. Enter sub-menu by pushing the OK button. • The message is sent by the physician who carries out the evaluation of test results via internet to the display of Fetaphon device.
