    5 HOW TO READ THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL The manual is divided into chapters, each of which concerns a specific category of information and, therefore, addresses operators for whom the relevant competences have been established. To facilitate understanding of the text, use is made of terms, abbreviations and pictograms, the meaning of which is given in Section 7.

    6 DEFINITIONS MACHINERY DIRECTIVE 2006/42/EC (Article 2 Definitions) MANUFACTURER Natural or legal person who designs and/or manufactures the vending machine and is liable for compliance of the vending machine for the purposes of placing it on the market under its own brand.     7 PICTOGRAMS Overview Pictograms are affixed in areas where they are easily visible and readable by approaching persons, and in such locations that persons may react promptly in taking the necessary action to avoid the hazard. The standard requires safety pictograms to be regularly checked and cleaned to ensure good legibility at safe distances. When products no longer meet the required visibility conditions, they must be replaced.

    SAFETY GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS Before operating the vending machine, carefully read the instructions in this manual and follow the instructions. The manufacturer has gone to great lengths to design this vending machine to render it as SAFE as possible. With this in mind, the vending machine is equipped with the protection and safety devices deemed necessary and provided with the required information for it to be used safely and correctly.

    Check that no objects are left between the moving parts following any maintenance work. If worn or defective parts are not replaced in an adequate time frame, Pharmashop24 srl shall accept no liability for any accidental damage that may result.

    The MAINTENANCE OPERATIVE has an even more extensive level of access than does the OPERATOR. Not only can they work with the doors open to access the product shelves, but they also include the required training to work on the mechanisms and drives in the vending machine, as well as change, test, repair and clean the refrigeration system incorporated in the vending machine, and the electrical system.

    7 RESIDUAL RISKS Care must taken regarding the following residual risks, which are present when the vending machine is being serviced and which cannot be eliminated. CAUTION: HAZARDOUS MOTION No persons, other than the maintenance operative, should be in the vicinity of the vending machine when the glass display door is open.

    INSTALLATION TRANSPORTATION AND HANDLING Due to its size and weight, the vending machine must be unloaded from the transportation vehicle using either the vehicle’s tail lift or a forklift. During transportation and loading/unloading, all procedures must be carried out with due care. Once the vending machine has been unloaded, it can be transported to the installation site, where the packaging can then be removed using a CE marked pallet truck of suitable load-bearing capacity.

    4 ASSEMBLY AND POSITIONING The vending machine is supplied by PharmaShop24 srl already assembled and ready to use following proper installation. In the case of refrigerated or air-conditioned vending machines, positioning must be carried out in...
  • Page 23 Once the vending machine has been placed in the location where it is to be secured, position the 600 kg forklifts supplied by PharmaShop24 srl and secure the vending machine using the provided polyester strapping so that it can be lifted using the blade. This procedure will enable the pallet to be removed from beneath the vending machine and the four adjustable feet located below the base near each wheel can be fitted.
  • Page 24 Now check that the vending machine is perfectly level (using a spirit level) on the front side In the event the glass display door (which has a considerable weight) opens with difficulty, we recommend adjusting the two front feet to increase the slope slightly towards the right, thereby facilitating opening of the glass display door.
  • Page 25 Finally, check that the drain pipe is connected properly to the upper casing fitting, and that the transparent pipe has a continuous minimum downward slope to ensure that condensation water flows out correctly. There should be no loops or bends that would cause stagnation and reduction of outflow (siphon effect). These precautions are very important and ensure that the water produced by condensation or defrosting inside the upper casing flows in the direction of the drain pipe (i.e.

    5 ELECTRICAL CONNECTION Once the vending machine has been permanently secured to the ground, the installer must then connect it to a power supply via the power cable located at the rear, ensuring that the task is carried out in complete safety and that protective gloves and safety footwear are worn.

    DESCRIPTION OF THE VENDING MACHINE PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION The purpose of the vending machine, as mentioned in previous chapters, is to make it possible for the end user to sell products with full autonomy. Using a backlit, alphanumeric keypad or touchscreen interface, the user is able to select the desired product and view its cost by interfacing with the display.

    4 LIGHTING The vending machine is lit internally using LED strips measuring 1200 x 14 x 6 mm, a voltage of +24V and a luminous flux between 670-720 lm. LED backlighting is also provided on the digital keypad and display. It follows that the place of installation of the vending machine does not require any particular lighting requirements as the lighting levels in the space in which it is located, or street lighting in the case of location outside a building, are sufficient.

    VENDING MACHINE OPERATION OPENING AND COMMISSIONING The vending machine comes with a set of 3 keys for the control door handle lock. Only authorised personnel (maintenance operatives or spare parts or product operatives) should be in possession of this set of keys. Two of these keys are silver-coloured and one is gold-coloured.

    Electrical panels for systems with separate +12V or +24V power supplies If a vending machine from the “Interactive”, “Virtual”, “Hybrid” family is installed, ensure that the +12V power unit switch is also enabled (position “I”). 2 PRELIMINARY CHECKS Prior to commissioning the vending machine, a series of checks and inspections must be carried to prevent errors and accidents from occurring: protection check (glass display door, casing and control door);...

    3 CONFIGURATION CONFIGURATION AND VENDING MODES To access configuration (or supervisor) mode, open the control door and press the internal switch located near the banknote reader or near the motherboard. Always remember to save the settings each time any changes are made to a section of the menu.
  • Page 35 PRODUCT LOADING AND VENDING CHANNEL HANDLING To load a new product, pusher retraction control is required for each vending channel so that sufficient space is created. Vending machines that are equipped with a “quick release” motor system simply require a plastic clip on each motor to be pushed back to the desired position.
  • Page 36 On newer vending machines, simply remove the spring (B) that holds the motor in place and gently slide it towards the inside of the machine, taking care not to damage its wiring (see below). Once the motor has been disassembled, the threaded bar with its associated pusher can also be removed by sliding it towards the inside of the vending machine until the securing block is able to come out of the slot (H) at the rear of the shelf.

    7 DECOMMISSIONING During extended periods of inactivity, the vending machine must be switched off using the main switch and then disconnected from the power supply, taking care to remove all items from inside the vending machine for storage. CAUTION: for INTERACTIVE, VIRTUAL and HYBRID vending machines equipped with a low voltage power unit, switch off the machine using the main switch and set the power unit button to the “O”...

    MAINTENANCE ON-BOARD ELECTRICAL SYSTEM OPERATIONAL CHECKS Only suitably trained personnel may carry out maintenance on electrical equipment on board the machine. Before carrying out any maintenance and/or repairs, the vending machine must first be isolated from its power supply, except for procedures required to check correct operation using operational testing. Maintenance of the electrical system consists of checking the condition of the power supply cable and its plug, as well as the cabling and, if required, replacing any defective components that are no longer functional.
  • Page 40 Always use suitable PPE (personal protective equipment), depending on the procedures to be carried out: gloves; ▪ safety footwear; ▪ safety eyewear; ▪ mask; ▪ protective clothing, ▪ WEEKLY MAINTENANCE • DUST REMOVAL FROM BANKNOTE READER To remove dust deposits from the internal part of the banknote reader, the control door must be opened and, using a vacuum cleaner, air must be sucked out from the banknote slot, both from the outside and the inside of the machine.

    4 NON-ROUTINE MAINTENANCE General requirements Caution: users are prohibited from carrying out any non-routine maintenance, as operators or users may potentially find themselves in hazardous situations if there are no detailed instructions on how to carry out these procedures. Work should be carried out by specialist personnel. It is, however, recommended that the machine be stopped and non-routine maintenance carried out whenever sub-optimal operation is detected to ensure optimal efficiency over time.

    5 DECOMMISSIONING AND DISMANTLING Plastic and metal parts, electrical components, simple wiring containing copper, electronic devices (WEEE) and the refrigeration system must be separated when dismantling the machine. Each type of waste must be separated from the others and collected in accordance with current legislation. As far as the bulk metal of the vending machine is concerned, divide it into iron parts and parts made of other metals or alloys to be collected for proper melt recycling.
